This doesn't help the Canucks at all, so I'd say that probably a no. Bobrovsky just got a better package than that and he can't stop the puck. - micah555
How is a 2nd, and two 4ths a better package?
Komi actually plays in the NHL, Kadri is a fifth overall pick ready to break into the NHL and you get a late pick.
vs
5% chance you get anyone that every makes it on to a team |

oh thank bloody hell someone sees it the way i do
and no.. i dont think he guarantees us the playoffs.. and even if he did.. i wouldnt say he was worth it just to get them post season experience - Dozzer
luongo to the leafs would be what kipper does for the flames...too good for a top pick, and not good enough for the playoffs. |

A 2nd round pick plus some lower picks is better than Kadri? - LeafMan
A 2nd and 2 4ths is better than Kadri and taking on Komisarek's contract, yes. |

being one of 6 in a position is different than being one of two - Dozzer
Seriously, Dozz-meister - Luongo would never, ever ride buses in the A.
If he is still good at year 7, we keep him.
If he is a dog, we send him to the A. He has one look at the urinals in the Ricoh dressing rooms, and announces his retirement.
And goes on to a very lucrative job as spokesperson for Bosco Plumbing.
DISCLAIMER: No goalies' development was harmed in the development of this plan to obtain Luongo. |

Well then that's the issue. If you don't think Lu is good enough, then he's not worth acquiring. The contract is a secondary concern at that point. - micah555
Lu isnt the problem
my opinion is that the leafs are further away to being competitive than everyone seems to think
Lu is a great goalie.. who wont be had for crap players.. but he's not a miracle worker.. he still needs a decent team in front of him |

i dont get it tho...maybe our minds are in two different places?
K...heres what I think will happen with and without luongo
WITHOUT
Our current team is strong, and battles hard but they will battle to the last few games and JUST barely miss the playoffs...they will get nothing out of the year.
WITH
Team is strong, battles hard and just MAKES the playoffs and does half decent being underdogs...gets experience and moves into next year with alittle more push.
_______________
Point is...if we can get Luongo for cheap, I like the thought of him making us more competitive and taking us out of this losing slump...takes pressure of Reiimer to the our savior and lets him develop...gets guys like Kessel playoff experience who has seen NOTHING since being traded from a playoff team...some playoffs could do wonders and Luongo added to this roster could get us there. We had a HORRIBLE breakdown last year, which imo, wouldnt happen with a proven goalie. I reeeeally dont think Reimer/Scrivens tandem gets us the playoffs OR a top five pick....itll be in between....nothing.
My thoughts wrapped up. |

You really have to be lucky with those picks, but that is your opinion, I disagree. |

Canucs fans have a huge hate on for Kadri... Probably because people said he was better than the formerly elite hodgson. |

ummm no.. the current team is not strong.. young.. and they outskated everyone in the first half.. thats why they were winning.. but once the older guys found their grooves halfway through the season the leafs lost their advantage |

Maybe. The Flames were very close last year. Personally, I think Lu is the better goalie and that Toronto's goaltending was their Achilles' heel. A major upgrade in net should get them to the dance.
The thing is, Burke is not going to let the team finish last. He's been trying to rebuild on the fly. He's invested assets in making the team better now. It's all for nothing is he tries to bottom out now. |
