Nobody is arguing that they are great pieces to a Stanley Cup team.
But their salaries are irrelevant. MLSEL has the money. They don't have cap issues.
Hate them because they suck.
Don't hate them for their cap hit. - Atomic Wedgie
ya they have money, with no cap...I'd fine with.
But in a 65 million dollar cap world and having 13.5 million tied up in overpaying absolute crap.....is never a good sign. |

a few names - which could be debated - were signed after July 1st that same summer:
Scuderi
Wisnewski
Andrew Alberts
and my personal favorite
Clayton Stoner.
now I'm not saying that's a stellar crowd... but I believe you can make an arguement that each could have been had for less the Krapasarek, for lesser years, and none of them would have had the "impact" K has had in Toronto. - BorjeFan4Ever

Dreger is funny and a lil dumb. He's saying that the trading of Bob puts more pressure on Toronto.
I don't think Toronto ever had Bob on their radar or ever considered him as a potential number 1. All it did was eliminate CLB as a destination for Lu, although i doubt Lu would've EVER waived his NTC to go to CLB |

Talking about it is one thing, but biting someones head off for highlighting a possibility grinds my gears. - AnnGee44
oh boy.
I didn't "bite your head off"...just pointed out that if you wanted another top 5 pick....that idea could a good solution. |

How'd that Connolly thing work out?
I know, I know....Gomez sucks. - hscesq
At the time, signing Connolly was a better move than not signing Connolly.
He was the 2nd best UFA center out there.
It didn't work out, but I'm not going to bust Burkie's you-know-whats for taking the chance.
The alternative was having Bozak remain as the 1st line centre. And that would guarantee that the Leafs miss the playoffs.
Don't bother trying to argue the last point. It's a fact.
Trust me. |

But why would Mason be better than a Reimer/Scrivens tandem?
I'd rather just go with what we already have, thank you very much. - Atomic Wedgie

I would by a Stoner jersey.

Don't think he wants to sit the year out. Think he just wants out of Boston. Would make a nice short term fix for the Leafs, except I doubt Chiarelli would trade him within the division - faceto27
i don't think he'd worry about the poopty Leafs |

We already have too much depth at goalie.
We need height.
Or width.
