Nathan Murray @Murzzy18
not that i know for absolute sure but its looking pretty good that we could be making some alberta trips in the near future. #JustSayin
Ryan Murrys brother.... Also hearing that a year younger than everyone Teravainen could go third to Montreal....
WTF is going on?
- steve362
If the Habs take Teravainen, the Oilers take Murray, the Jackets take Yakupov, the Islanders take Reinhart and suddenly we have a CHOICE of Galchenyuk, Grigorenko, Forsberg (obviouse choice but still)
Lupul - Galchenyuk - Kessel

neither Murray not Galchenyuk will be available for you guys. Forsberg depends on what the Habs do. - DoubleDown
shut up, please, just stop. Let us have Galy and stop being so mean.
k?
Thanks. |

If Leafs pick a Dman, then Schenn is most likely gone.
They're gonna try to replace him. - jbold
If Philly gets Ryan, then JVR goes to the Leafs for Schenn |

Leafs drafting a Dman?

We better not. If we do I don't know what Burke's thinking. |

If Schenn goes to Vancity for Luongo...I wont be happy. Lets put it that way. |

I think he will be going to Philly. Philly desperately needs to upgrade their defense |

I think the only way I would be satisfied with a D man at 5 is if another was dealt today/tomorrow for some help up front.
I'm no scout by any stretch, but there seem to be a couple good centers to take a flyer on. Grigs or Faksa seem mot plausible |

Not so obvious if the reports that Burke might take a d-man are true. |

(frank) me..... I get that BPA is really the way to go, but really after Yakupov and Galy, everyone is close in talent and skill, until about the 8th or 9th pick, so you can pick a FORWARD - cor99
Unless your scouts tell you someone is special .....I like the hype around the Reilly kid ... |

The issue I have with the "Salary dump" is that Connolly,Armstrong and Lombardi are all off the books after this upcoming season and Komisarek who I believe is the most tradeable is off the season after. I would rather suck it up for another year and not be stuck with Luongo for ten years. - steve362
I understand your thinking... but I believe its the lesser of two evils to take on Luongo's CAP hit and contract. The lesser of two evils not because Luongo's contract is good ... it isn't... but the presence on the roster all of Komisarek, Connolly, Lombardi and Armstrong are arguably road blocks to the team improving and to the introduction of younger players.
1) I'm not a big fan of acquiring Luongo... however IF he can be had at a low cost - he does represent the opportunity to stabalize the goaltending situation - which I would guess most fans would say (maybe 80%) is the biggest issue the team faces.
2) if getting rid of any of the aforementioned players combines with acquiring a goaltending situation - its a double bonus - the addition by subtraction thing
3) if BB is able to get rid of any of those aforementioned four, he creates spots for what would no doubt be harder working players
4) and wouldn't be great to watch Schneider behind Komisarek, and the twins trying to reel in a few of those Komisarek passes (read bombs)

Unless it's Murray, would any d-man be the best available though? There's some good talent possible at 5 that aren't d-men. And we already have a lot of young d-men in our system. |

I'm not sold on JVR though. I think we can draft someone at 5 who's better than JVR and potentially a good center.
I know Burke wants young guys who can help NOW but JVR in my opinion isn't the way to go. |

if Toronto comes back from Pittsburgh with only Filip Forsberg or Teuvo Teravainen added to the fold, that this weekend will be labeled as a failure. - mikeinbuffalo
I don't see how that is a failure...adding 1-2 very good prospects is fantastic!
It's only a failure to the fans who say they wanted a proper rebuild but obviously don't have the patience for it. |
