My door is always open. Stop by anytime. The beer is cold. The food is good and the conversion can be titillating.

Hey Chief. I really expected to be calm and collected this draft day. But man. Over the past few hours with all these rumors swirling. All the possibilities of moving up, down and making trades. I'm on the edge of my chair.

I'm anxious to get this going already. In the end I think we end up staying at 4 and not making wacky trades including our top prospects. I think it's going to be a hell of an interesting first round though.

You know what I think? I all depends on who comes knocking on Snow's door and what they offer.

My guess is a lot of people reserved the max # of passes (I think it was 8) because they were free. My guess is the weather scares a lot of people away.

Last I heard 17,000 passes were downloaded but that doesn't mean they're all being used. I know myself I have 4 but am only using 2. I would guess you'll probably see less than half of that 17,500.

NHLnetwork just gave their rundown of the draft live from Pittsburgh. 5:47 pm. They believe Nail slips down to 3rd or 4th pick.

Murray to Oilers and Gally to BJ's.

Montreal is high on Grigo. So its a toss up according to them where Nail goes. To Montreal or NYI.

If it starts to unwind like that. I think we can forget about any chance of Isles moving from #4. Unless Snow agrees with the other top 3 GM's

I'd be fine with either Yakupov or Grigorenko

I think its gonna be nearly impossible to screw this draft up.

Doug Weight was just on. He said that the 1st pick in the draft will determine what the Isle will do!

Is that a slip?

If they are waiting for that. Then they arent looking for the #1 pick

Depends on their draft board and who they rank where. Since there's really no consensus #1 anymore, it's going to affect everyone else in the top 5. If it's Murray, that leaves a big question mark for CBJ. Especially if they aren't interested in Yakupov. If MTL is really interested in Teravainen, as RDS reported, we may have to choose from Galchenyuk/Forsberg, Yakupov, and Grigorenko. Not a bad problem to have

Going on my own personal rankings, right now our absolute worst case scenario is having to pick Murray at 4. And that's a completely awesome worst case scenario.

For no good reason. Teams never end up looking smart when this happens, at least recently. Couturier? Fowler? I won't say I'd absolutely rather have those two than Nino and Strome, because it's way, way too early in all their careers to make those determinations. But I will say that I would not be upset at all if those two players were on our team.

I have a feeling this "no consensus #1" stuff is just to drive more interest in the event itself. Sort of like "the Isles are taking Duchene!" or "Tyler or Taylor?!" when it was pretty clear from the drop of the puck that year that Hall was going to be the number one pick.

But, we'll see soon.

I don't know, people who are in-the-know are saying that CBJ doesn't want Yakupov and the Oil are considering trading down to take Reinhart, etc... Maybe it's just fake chatter getting put out there by teams to keep other GM's on their toes. I don't ever remember hearing reports that we were going to draft Duchene over JT in 09. There was speculation and people trying to make a point of why we should, but never any "I've heard the Isles are leaning towards Duchene" reports.

If murray goes 1st overall, I think isles might move up to #2 to get yakupov.
