Islanders won't make any significant deals today other than Garth trading our first round draft picks for a couple of 2016 2nd rounders....so we can extend the rebuild to 20 years!!

Seriously - i've heard rumors that Garth has called about Ryan and Yandle but does anyone realistically believe we will land one of these guys? Also Snow really scares me when we are in a draft spot like this one. If Forsberg or Murray is there why do I get a sinking feeling he will still trade down? It's an exciting time but also stressful because his personality is worse than a pissed off skunk.

Do you read him much? The comparison makes about as much sense as comparing Moulson's style of play to Bobby Ryan's. They approach their coverage completely differently.

He is no comparison to Dee Karl...at least he puts out some rumors that make sense...when is the last time Dee Karl wrote about an Islanders rumor? I'm going to wait until this weekend to see if anything breaks...

My point was meant to be that he has zero inside information on the Hawks, unlike credentialed members of legitimate media outlets (read: not hockeybuzz). "Putting out rumors" is where false hope and lies spread like wildfire. I could tell you my cousin was Garth Snow's personal assistant and he was attempting to acquire Niklas Kronwall for Frans Nielsen, but I'd only be lying.

On a less exaggerated point, he may think that some sort of deal involving Bailey/Hjalmarsson is feasible, but the truth is he really has no leg to stand on in backing that up.

Like any of these bloggers have legit sources? It's all BS...like a GM is going to tell EK or Dee that we are looking to make a trade. The only ones I have some faith in are Draeger and MacKenzie...

Just a couple of things:

-I'd trade for Komisarek....I'd trade a 6th round draft pick, and only if we MUST have him to make the cap floor. Linguists are trying to come up with a new word for slow that means "slower than that". When they do, his picture will be next to it in the dictionary. We already had Brendan Witt; we could have just kept him. At least HE could fight a little bit.

-The only way I'll shed tears if we make a trade is if we trade Roberto Luongo for Oleg Kvasha (where's the emoticon that depicts smiley face shooting himself in the head?). If we trade some combination of Bailey or Okposo, plus de Haan or one of the other young defensemen, or the draft pick, or whatever, and bring back a premier defenseman, in his prime, who is already signed for three or four years, if I shed any tears, it will be because I am driving one of those guys to the airport on a motorcycle, and I'm not wearing a helmet.

why would they trade for a guy and his big contract to be a "depth guy"....if youre going to overpay at least get something that wont be watching from 150 feet north of the ice

I cant complain about what we will do. I cant say anything because for the last decade, everytime we want someone, snow or whoever tends to pick a player out of a hat and says that is who we will get. sheesh!
