The only thing I don't like is that Pronman had nothing to say at all on the last 2 picks which probably means he knows nothing of them.
- BringBackBalky

He probably knows about them, just didn't include them in his top 100. But Calle Andersson who he had ranked 35 just went to the Rags at 119, so I'm not overly worried about going strictly by his rankings.

You guys think Reinhart starts the season on the Isles roster?

I certainly don't want to see that.

- potvin05

I dont think he does, but if he shows the chops.. there arent many he has to beat out to get the job.

Suffice it to say, the islanders are no longer weak in the area of defensive prospects. Now how about getting one more vet dman and an experienced vet forward to replace PA?

I'm hoping this draft is changing some opinions on Snow. Absolutely superb value trade, and a complete 180 in the terms of defensive prospect skill. A good free agency period and I think some of the whiners are going to stop whining and go back to trusting him.

That's true. He just said on Twitter earlier that if he doesn't comment on the pick of a team it's probably because he doesn't have enough info on them. Which is fine because he can't be expected to know everyone from everywhere. Plus I'd like to think I can trust the scouts of my own team as well

This is true.

I'll tell you one thing...This draft shows that Snow and co. have a ton of confidence in their offensive prospects i.e. Kabanov, Strome, Ullstrom, Cizekas, etc.

Slepshyev still hasn't been drafted yet. May be a big concern that he won't come over, but I'd risk a 6th round pick on his talent. Pronman has him ranked 17th overall.

Imagine if he had a brother ready to get drafted. The fans would go crazy if Wang took him.

It's not like it was a hard strategy to come up with.... In a draft year deep with Dmen, he loaded up on a area that was diminished in the prospect pool. Real test just like for any GM is how these kids turn out in the years to come.

They need at least 3 guys...1 defenseman so they don't rush any of their prospects, one 2nd line center and one winger to replace PA...

I love how everyone was talking about how you rarely draft D in the first round, but there was like 13 drafted. 8 in the first 10

Strome is going to be that second line center.. He is going to get every chance to win the spot in camp... I think Frans is still the second line center come the start of the season, but wouldnt be surprised if Strome is third till he gets his feet wet

so true... which is why no fan should be upset at Garth for not trading down for Griffin, I was at first but then seeing how the following 6 teams went for D, He wouldn't have been there. Gottta say I'm impressed and pleased with Garth for first 3 rounds. Although I still wanted Thrower, I'll give Garth some time to trade for him, lol.

In my ideal world we would have taken Hamilton last year and Grigorenko this year, but hindsight is 20/20 and I'm perfectly happy with the outcome.
