any plyr coming to Philly knows the team has the will and the $$ to win...on balance, I think that's a positive for the flyers.
- isaiah520

Lots of other teams have $$$ too. Plus a will to win. And are more patient. And have a less rabid fan base.

and have tons of travel, incompetent mgmt, little stability, etc. and to many plyrs, the rabid fan base is cool after plying in half empty buildings in mkts that are lukewarm to hockey and/or geographically undesirable.

The Stagecoach may be full most of time, but it's often quiet inside. The passengers have been known to boo the driver too on occasion.

Still plenty of teams to choose from that have solid ownership and mgmt.

If Homer goes for some kind of a package with Iginla and Jay-bo I'm done with this team.

I'd wager a small sum that this hip issue resurfaces right before the trade deadline. I'd match any ante that ironman and JVR will ever become synonymous.

And as far as what the kid can do, his 4+ million dollar multi-year payday means his honeymoon is over.

Also, he didn't exactly impress playing with G for a short while last year. Take that back, impress would be too kind - he actually disappeared. Not sure how that's even remotely possible for anyone, even for 5-6 games playing with Giroux, but he did it.

Pressure's on - if comes out the gate soft yet again, he'll have to very quickly find his peace in soul or whatever the hell Bryz was talking about.

Meltzer posted long ago and it is evident, JVR and Giroux get in each other's way when they play together. The chemistry isn't there.

Sorta like Richards and Carter didn't work well together. We all saw how that turned out...

Did anyone stop to think that the Nash rumors and Ryan rumors have to do with the lack of available defensemen?
- Jsaquella

Exactly what I have been saying the last few days. Is it out of the realm of possibility that Shea Weber is currently unavailable and Homer is unimpressed with what else is out there?

Thats a lot of salary coming back. Iginla is too old to give up young players for imo.

I think a look at guys like Johnson and bogo seems more plausible...

I am sure I missed all the speculation... but i know nothing about this draft class. What exactly could the Flyers be looking to move up to 6 to get?

You like to keep things logical. Do you have any concern over JvR's hip going into next season?

They were rarely together in Philly, no? And it wasn't like Richards was setting up Carter all the time in LA either. The few goals Carter scored mostly came like they did in Philly. Curl around the circle into the slot and let the wrister fly.
