to repeat what i said a few pages back... It's a pre-emptive profile adjustment to what is probably coming in the next few days. See Nash, Jbo trade rumors.

edit: it's also a play on the scene depicted in my avatar .

I hope we get nobody until July 1. I hope we get Jagr and Carle then so we can put up with three months of wailing and whining about their signings, followed by six more months of same during the season.

Please no Nash.

Please no Weber.

Please no JBo.

For what it's worth, according to EK, the Flyers are "looking elsewhere" regarding Nash...

Of course....that's EK

same but even then I don't want to overpay for anyone. I'd even be willing to let jagr walk but if he doesn't produce next year, it's not an 8 million dollar weight around our necks for 5 years.

Dude was apparently on the ball last summer. Who knows - I'm gonna wait patiently and ignore the mongering of rumors.

Thing is the only guy on that list that we don't have players capable of becoming is Weber. So I'd be willing to consider deals for him, not those other guys tho. Overpaid and like I said we have guys capable of performing up to those levels.

Everyones all big on this Nash and Giroux duo, but it didn't work with Carter there this year either. All i'm saying is there's no guarantee Nash and Giroux click in the first place.

Nash and Giroux certainly seem more compatible than Carter and Nash. Also, Carter was about as interested in making it work in Columbus as I am of washing dishes.

I don't care how good Weber is or how rare he is. Everyone says "But lo! This kind of player is the hardest player to have on a team! Alas, we must trade each limb for his services!!"

We get it. The dude is good. He's the best player at his position and entering his prime.

But guess what? We have a hell of a team right now and a hell of a future. I'm certain that if we trade JVR, Schenn, and 2 firsts for Weber, Weber will be OUTPRODUCED by his return. Schenn is overlooked on this team. People view him as a trade chip. The kid is going to be unbelievable, people. DON'T TRADE HIM. And as far as JVR goes, I say we give him a year with G. Guess what? The kid was on a 35+ goal pace before he was decimated by "the bug".

Don't trade the kids. They're special. This team is special. They're going to and already have done extraordinary things...look at what they did this past season. That's without Weber.

Can you imagine what this group of players would do if they get a few more seasons worth of....uhh....seasoning?? Hell, it could come as early as next season- the kids already have a full season AND playoffs under their belts. And if Bryz plays even HALF as well as he did in March.....

Dynasty.

DON'T. TRADE. THEM.

In all actuality yes it would seem like a better fit with Giroux, than with Carter, however we won't know that unless we see it and there is still no guarantee it works. GIroux to JVR still hasn't proven (yes I know JVR's been hurt all year) to work either. All things being equal I think the flyers have players capable of producing at a level near what nash gives you in JVR and Schenn, hell if Voracek could learn to finish he could even be one. Otherwise at that cap-hit and what would be needed to attain him, no thanks.

all very true. hopefully the flyers either get a damn good defenseman for three letters or don't trade him at all.
