I kind of like this pick. The Ducks are going to need size to compete with the Kings top 6 and I hope Griffin will develop into a Chris Pronger Jr. I know that's asking a lot form the kid but I can hope, can't i?

Toronto drafts - Mikhail Grigorenko

NY Islanders draft- Ryan Murray

Montreal drafts - Filip Forsberg

Columbus drafts - Alex Galchenyuk

Edmonton drafts - Nail Yakupov

Spoiler alert!!!

I don't expect much of a response from this lol

Leafs better be drafting Galchenyuk or Grigorenko

It's funny seeing him beside his 2 brothers. He's like 6" taller than them and he's the middle child.

Couldn't find the picture of him beside his brothers, but I found this funny one that makes him look massive.

I know you'll have the leafs draft Galyenchuk next B-Hud!

I know that's what you hope for as a Leaf fan but he won't be available at #5!

Not too mad actually, at first I was like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME I'D-" but now that I think about it, he would be good leverage trading-wise

What exactly is Anaheim doing are they rebuilding or retooling or? TSN is reporting that Ryan is available... I wonder if it is to free up space for Nash or???

Ducks have a lot of wings and it's a relatively weak UFA market so I think they're hoping someone will over-pay. One rumor I've heard was Ryan for Staal, Orpik, and a pick. I can't believe that Pitt would do that but you'd have to make that trade if you're Bob Murray.

I'd say almost every player is available for the right price on any team. The question is whether Ryan is being shopped or whether some rival GMs are simply resurrecting from pre-deadline offers now that the offseason has come into full swing.

I don't see him being dealt unless it is for a top pairing defensemen. We are not rebuilding in a sense that we need picks/prospects more than established 30 goal scorers. We are rebuilding in a sense that we need our young top prospects to take the next step and become NHL roster players so we have more depth and a stonger top nine. We are also rebuilding in a sense that we never truly replaced Niedermayer or Pronger, and have been using young guys like Fowler and Sbisa in roles that they probably have not been ready for just yet.

I trust Bob MacKenzie but I think this is a remote chance at best. Prob. just some names being thrown around pre-draft, to see what it would take to pull a "pronger type move" which Bob Murray had mentioned at a recent public event at the Pond.

If Staal were signed long term, I would probably even throw in the 6th to make it Staal, Orpik, and Pitt's 1st.

I don't see it happening though.

Also, Kudos to Huddle for picking Reinhart for our Ducks. I think he and Trouba are who Murray is targeting this draft. Teuvo may be in the mix if Palmieri or Ryan are being shopped.

It is actually a pretty good deal considering that Staal is worth about 5 million a season and it gives Anahiem that 2nd line center they need. Plus he is a big man who can compete with LA's size and shutdown like Kesler or pitch in offensively if needed. Staal and a 1st for Ryan is probably fair orpik makes it a great deal (especially considering Pitts "weak" defense)

On the matter of Reinhart, I dont think he makes it past the Isles... I think we could see him in the NHL this year as well.. I wish sooooo badly he could be a canuck!
