Radulov is heading back to KHL - VANTEL
Good, hope he stays there this time, he screwed Nashville over royally. I still can't understand why Nashville let him go in the first place when he was under contract with them. That sets a really bad precedent, especially when there's no transfer agreement in place between the KHL and the NHL, it encourages Russian kids who get drafted to sign their ELCs, and then if they get sent back to junior, to run to the KHL instead and play until their ELC runs out and they're unrestricted free agents. |

Pahlsson: talked with Canucks, nothing concrete. They said they have big things in the making. #NHL #Canucks@ThomasDrance - VANTEL
I've no doubt Gillis has "big things" scribbled down on paper. Whether or not he can find the right partners to execute these plans, that remains to be seen.
Re Huddle's trade idea, I'd do Kassian+1st+prospect (which prospect?) in a heartbeat for Evander Kane. I still don't like our 2nd line without a playmaker (we literally have 1 playmaker on this entire freakin' team) but we can worry about addressing that later. If Kane is in play and Winnipeg is listening to reasonable offers, go get him. |

Now confirmed, Samuel Pahlsson has signed 3 year deal with MODO of SEL. Brings the 34-year-old's NHL career to an end. |

The single crucial issue in the next Collective Bargaining Agreement
Highlight:
The final possibility is a larger salary range – more gap between the ceiling and floor. In a system where the owners and players each get a fixed percentage of revenue, the floor serves as a way of ensuring the players get their money; if the floor drops the money poor teams aren’t spending needs to come from somewhere else. The obvious answer is from rich teams, via an increased salary cap. This is one of the areas where Savard’s quote above comes into play – the rich teams are already making money, and they like having a salary advantage over other teams. Budget teams then have the option of spending less.
The sacrifice would be parity, at least to some degree. But the fourth solution is the only one on this list that works for all parties, and it’s one I’d be shocked not to see in the next CBA, probably in concert with a reduction in the players’ share, and perhaps with a slight increase in revenue sharing.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but who was our playmaker(other than Hank) during our SCF run? Didn't seem to hurt us then. I agree that we can use a skilled forward for the second line, but I still wouldn't overpay for a guy like Paranteau. He played on a line with Tavares and got first line minutes, so his numbers would definitely regress here IMO and he would probably be in everyone's Nash/Weber trade proposals if he's making 4.5 mil per season like Booth. |

As long as Nazzy is the GM, I could definitely see that. I saw a video of a few of his goals during the West Coast Express days and I definitely miss having a pure sniper/goal scorer on our team. That wrist shot was amazing. |

It hurt us something horrible against Boston. It's against the best teams where you need some magic to break through, less so against teams when you're the superior opponent.
Not saying we don't have a good team on our hands, but the obvious way we plodded on offensively over the last 2 playoff series (including on the PP) is a big cause for concern. When it gets tight we rely a bit too much on the twins. I'd like to see our lines more even balanced. I think we've seen how ineffectual a line of 3 shoot-first forwards can be against quality defenses. |

If I were him, Pittsburgh would be looking like a nice destination. Gets to play with a top center and a chance to win the cup and doesn't have a ton of pressure on him to carry the offense on a team with Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Staal, Kunitz, etc. |

Pass it to Bulis@passittobulis
The fact that the #Canucks haven't extended qualifying offers to either Schneider or Lack is suspicious. SUSPICIOUS I SAY.

Yeah I saw the Pitt blog, looks like they're going to get a very nice return for him. It will definitely hurt them though, especially with Malkin's knees and Crosby's head, you never know when one of them is gonna go down and then they'll have a serious problem for their second line center. |
