I bet Dumba becomes the best dman out of this draft. - yea-ok-buddy
It's very possible. No other d-man in the draft possesses the same combination of hockey smarts, offensive ability, defensive ability, and physicality. As dozzer says, the only real concern about him is size... He's a touch under 6 feet, and pretty light.
His smarts mean he might be able to step right into a roster, but it'd probably be better to let him develop a bit. |

The Leafs have needs to address. Dumba obviously has useful talents but he's still a gamble. He's not like Murray where you're pretty much guaranteed a smart, effective player. - Unholy_Goalie
and i do agree with this.. we have enough "gamble" players in the system
btw, side note.. think its time to move d'amigo in a deal? i do.. sell high on this guy NOW |

Sure' you named some good 2nd and rd round picks, but the odds are you get guys like Marco Coseneau or Corey Flenhage who were picked on either side of Henrique. - xxCHRISTOFIRExx
There is useful talent in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. The Leafs could pick a goalie or a guy like Lukas Sutter. Lots of options with two more picks. The Leafs could also use those picks to move up and get a late 1st round pick. If they want a player and can move down to get him, they should. |

Don't see a bright future in D'Amigo?
Guy's been on-pace with first-rounder Schroeder ever since being drafted... I'd hold on to him. |

But do we really need a guy who's a safe 2nd liner? |

Yup, the next Phaneuf but has hockey smarts and defensive ability. Either they forgot who Phaneuf is or they have never seen him play.

yup. But few of them are constantly lauded for their high hockey sense and defensive play.
Dumba is considered a very strong puck-mover who plays just as strong defensively, has a strong shot, and is physical. Red Line has him above Murray for that reason. Button has him as the 2nd best player, HockeysFuture has him going as high as 2nd overall as well.
The guy's a stud. Passing over him for Faksa would be a huge mistake. - Schenn-Sational!
i guess it all depends on the approach burke takes at this point.. organizational needs or best player available?
i have heard what UG is mentioning tho.. that he is prone to similar brain farts like phaneuf, however.. by the time he is ready the idea of moving dion out and replacing him with dumba is a potential future worth looking at |

Guys like Lupul you sell high. How high could you sell D'Amigo at this point? The idea is to sell high on older players, not the prospects. |

As for the idea of trading Gardiner for Nail,
What an insane Idea
absolutley stupid.
The whole of idea of dumping valuable assets in this draft in order to move up, when we're not sure we can accuratley quantify that the move up 3-4 spots would be worth a true blue chipper is retarded |

Dumba suits the Ducks from a need standpoint as well as a style perspective. Mobile and productive, he could mesh effectively with the skilled, up-tempo roster in Anaheim. While there are likely a handful of defenseman of which those things could be said in a deep class of rearguards, Dumba also makes the Ducks tougher. He not only uses his speed to create offense, he also finds the puck on defense and has a knack for the big hit. In a breakout season, Dumba has also shown the ability to elevate his game at critical moments. Much like Brian Campbell or P.K. Subban, Dumba projects as a very strong two-way defender who can make timely, dynamic contributions to his club.
Think maybe you should stop recycling the same garbage over and over?
Maybe the Phaneuf comparison isn't a great one, given his other skill sets? |

Ya there seems to be the 3 goalies there, but we also have 35, take your pick there. If Burke is sold on Faksa and thinks he knows something the other gms are missing then drop down and take what you can get, but if he isn't completely convinced just draft where you draft |

Teravainen and Reinhart could easily rise into the 5-7 range along with Faksa
I'd take Reinhart over any of them |

whoa what?
half a point per game player this year as his best pro season.. hasnt stood out since that one WJC where he played on pace with hall
too streaky for my liking is all
i dont really see this guy being a huge impact guy in the nhl.. before the playoffs i doubt anyone would take issue to moving him.. but he caught fire for a few games and everyone is talking about nhl roster spot?!?!?!
a wee bit absurd if you ask me
if you can get a good return on the guy.. you gotta think about doing it.. he may have skill, and could be a piece.. but is by no means a guy that you dont move in a deal |

I'd love to see D'Amigo and Gardiner stay put. But that's me. For once in my lifetime, let the prospects develop HERE! I'm so jealous of these teams that draft, develop and enjoy their own. |

But if the Leafs get a 2nd and a 3rd for moving down two spots, now they have two 2nds and a 3rd. Add in a player or two and the Leafs could move up significantly and potentially add another 1st round pick. |

fair enough.. i just find d'amigo to be a little streaky
but in fairness to him.. he does seem to find the extra gear in bigger games... if only he could do that consistantly |

D'Amigo is going to develop into one hell of a good PKer. What did the Leafs suck worse on last year? The PK. Impact doesn't always include points. |
