where did I say anything about taking a deal??

all i said was that his name was attached to some of those teams and players..

he was also heavily attached to Chicago.. it was WELL noted that Chicago wanted Derek Roy hard.. but just couldn't come up to the asking price of Buffalo.

read a book or something man.

- JVince117

seems everyone wanted Roy, Montreal, Chicago, LA, .... how did Buffalo manage to hang on to him?

we'll pay it the atttention it deserves.

- BorjeFan4Ever

That wasn't addressed to you... so don't reply back to it..

Can't you just go and put your sh!tty 2 cents some where else and ruin that conversation.. me and that mkfreedom or something like that were talking..

traffic = go play in it.

i am well aware of the meaning of the word

there is a big difference between:

1: stop being dense

2: you are dense

the first implies that you arent actually dense, but for some bewildering reason are acting as such

the second implies that you are just dumb lol

Actual 2nd line centers with comparable traits would be like

Derek Roy, Olli Jokinen, Tuomu Ruutu, Franzen, Dubinsky, Pavelski (Marleau actually plays wing next to Thornton), David Backes, and Brooks Laich.

Who I believe ALL have better stats and make less money than him...

- JVince117

Only Jokinen has better stats and he used to make more money

Because teams low-balled the sh!t out of Buffalo for him..

Do you not understand logic here!!??

One team has high opinions of their player.. another team claims to have low value so they low ball.. and then they try to somewhat meet in the middle..

What about this does not make sense to you??

I hope a bird dive bombs you.

I have derek roy.

- JVince117

won't happen, all Canadian dive bombers are in fact geese, most of which live on American lawns and golf courses - so they can bomb Americans.

yup - its that simple.

Please, tell me the last time he said that? He's given multiple interviews since then it which he said goaltending would be looked at and improved upon. Obviously his stance has changed since he last said that.

Rather have Grabo for his price than:

Roy, Jokinen,Dubinsky

Franzen, look at term
Pavelsk is goign to be resigned very soon and likely for more than $5.5
Backes is an underpaid player by almost anyones standards (I agree he is better)
Laich, Theres a comparable. Signed in a tougher market, WAS got a better deal than TOR.
Dubinsky, RFA signing, completely different.

Anyways, you have picked out a group of 8.. .I agree with 2 of them, on fence with 3 and 3 are worse

That doesnt seem overpaid to me.. That seems about average for his price

link to the press conference transcript:

http://blogs.canada.com/2...ke-press-conference-live/

note the part where he says:

The goaltending wasn’t good enough this year, I think James Reimer is the real deal, I think we can still plan on him being the number one guy, but we have to look at a guy who gives us more options and performances right from the get-go next year

- Dozzer

Exactly, note but we have to look at a guy who gives us more options and performances right from the get-go next year. Ergo, Reimer will be the #1 eventually but right now, Burke is looking for a goaltender.

"If Burke keeps saying he believes that Reimer is still the real deal, then why would he acquire Luongo?"

Because Reimer isn't the #1 at this point but could be. Note the "I think we can still plan on him.."

so based on that - I'm just trying to understand here - you believe Derek "cookie jar" Roy is worth more than his current 4M CAP on his next contract? like something in the range of 5... 5.5M perhaps? a little more than Leino? more than Brad Boyes? you know - the slightly overpaid range of Grabovski?

and you don't believe the Sabres will have to overpay him to keep in that beautiful city?

We all do know that Toronto definitely has a perfect idea of the price for all of their players... I can't imagine how sh!tty Toronto would have been with those extra what 3 1st round draft picks that they traded for Kessel.

nah... couldn't be.

- JVince117

2 first round picks and a second thank you very much

still has resulted in more goals for our franchise then the bruins..

how long that holds up is disconcerting tho

Pavelski's 66, 61, 51, and 59 point seasons are no match for Grabos 59, 51, and 48 huh?

Interesting...

How about Franzen's 56, 55, and 59 point seasons?

How about Roy's 81, 70, 69 and 63 point seasons?

Those all look better than Grabo and make less..

My point was if he thinks Reimer is the real deal, it wouldn't make sense for him to acquire a goaltender whose contract expires when Reimer is 34.

But you were trying to prove he had value because he was rumoured to be about to be traded to a bunch of teams who "low-balled the sh!t out of Buffalo" becuase they have a low opinion of him.

Looking forward to your "you are an idiot" response

It's what have you done for me lately and Roy isn't getting 80 points anymore. Franzen plays with much better players than Grabovski does and they're getting the same amount of points.

Pavelski also plays with better linemates but you're right those couple more points he gets are the real difference...
