I've actually stopped listening to WIP conmpletely outside of Glen's show and now listen to Sirius Radio. my life and sanity if better because of it - nastyflyergirl
I been telling you to stop listening to them for like 6 months now Glad you are enjoying sanity
I'd say that the article where Carchidi labeled Richards "Captain Whine" is a good place to start.
But do I have any direct proof that I can offer here, no I don't. But that's my opinion - MJL
Maybe he called him Captain Whine because he's whiny. It seems a little unprofessional, but not necessarily untrue. We just made it thru another Flyer's season with the same folks writing and reporting on the Flyers. I'm sure they all still need to sell papers or ads, but I don't remember any negative stories about the team. I do remember some reports out of LA that Richards was causing a divide in the Kings locker room.
Anyone think that one of the "Top 6 Forwards" Eklund is reffering to is Hartnell? Could Hartnell waive his NTC for Nashville, and would Nashville want him back? - RooNosHockey
I hope not. Flyers need him desperately. I would think the package Nashville wants is Schenn/Couturier, JVR, picks/prospects. If Cooter is not in the picture the Flyers better pull the trigger. Holmgren might be hiding out in JVR's front bushes with a tranquilizer gun for this surgery.

i don't think the implication was that there was drug problem. I do think Holmgren was concerned with the amount of drinking and partying. I think as an alcoholic Holmgren is sensitive to substance abuse among players.

Your probably right...but i would think it would take a lot more than boozing to move them....

I agree with all this except for the no negative stories about the team part this year.
Nope, but I wouldn't accuse someone of that if there wasn't conclusive proof. So I'm going to give Richards and Carter the benefit of the doubt there. - MJL

I'm with you I don't think there was a drug problem. Other problems yes but I don't see anything telling me there was a drug problem, very heinous and unfounded.

Did he all of a sudden become whiny? Look there was some situations with the media that Ricahrds could have handled better. But there is no doubt that some writers, Carchidi in particular, had a personal issue with Richards. And Richards in return. And with the nonsense that was written, I don't blame Richards.
