You do realize in the thirty years before Wang bought the Isles two RFP's were put out on the HUB and not a single person stepped forward. Wang never needed to own the Islanders to do what you are claiming and in fact after D'Amato took his tantrum Suozzi allowed other bids in 2005. Wang closed on the Marriott sale in Dec 2005 when the Lighthouse was coming together and Rechler went in with him. In 2010 Wang bought out Rechler on the hotel.

What you are writing is contrary to the agreement he made last summer and what's he's done in Bridgeport with no development rights. In 2007 he was in Plainville with Rechler and they could get nothing done with his property.

Why should an owner have to know about hockey? They hire people to know about hockey.

When we don't pick in the top five two years in a row and make the playoffs I'll agree with this, until then NOBODY can accurately say Garth Snow is doing a good job. Yeah, we have prospects but it means nothing if we are losing.

Sadly all the owners care about is money, but the players aren't far behind

The cap ceiling shouldn't be rising, there's only like 8 teams in the league who make more than 80$mil per season (cap cieling will be around 71$ I believe)
Brad Richards isn't worth his contract
Zach parise isn't worth the 7.5-8.5mill he will get
PA isn't worth the 5-6 mill he will ask for

All the winning teams have players who aren't greedy. Well accept for drew doughty, but I think he deserved that contract

Guy you are clueless. Please just stop. It is getting to comical. I am totally convinced either you are realted to Wang or are real close friends with him. You have not been around here for like years then pop in and support every move Wang and his circus has done.

Oh and that is the problem. Wang did not hire anyone who knows about hockey. Snow is clueless. He was third tier goalie at best and pretty much has no idea about GM ing

- kasperrko

I think you are so blinded by hate there's no reasonable discussion to be had.

Philadelphia hired it's gm off the ice in Bob Clarke, Dallas made Brett Hull a co gm. Many gm's can be former agents who are good at number crunching like Barnett in Phoenix for years or just people like Steve Tambellini, Scott Howson or Marc Bergevin.

Snow's been good at identifying talent despite all the injuries and his contract negotiations have been first class from Witt to Hunter to Tavares. Someone adds a player like Streit or discovers Moulson, Parenteau, Grabner, makes moves for Hamonic, Roloson, Wisniewski, and signs his core players who all like being here that says a lot.

Nabokov signing here after what happened a year ago says a lot about what kind of gm Snow is. Nielsen could have walked, he stayed.

Also the goalies.....
ok, answer this....

if u were starting a team tomorrow an allowed to pick from only the rosters of
Kings/Isles after picking JT, the next possible Isle picked would be 6-10 players after, so thats a bit of difference of talent

same thing with Rangers/Isles roster, so besides goalie, these teams have much more talented F's

please dont be nieve...

Yeah I agree, I'm sure Garth is doing all he can. He can physically play for slumping players like bailey (although he looked a ppg player at wing) and streaky okposo
If bailey can stay 60poimt range and okposo could not be streaky than we have a full second line
JT just needs a quicker version of moulson and a hitter who cna score

why do you never acknowledge the points made? youre so quick to insult instead of talking like a human....i wasnt comparing the rangers season to the islanders.

like i said, and any ranger fan would back me up, the 3rd and 4th line were the reason why the rangers couldnt advance and was the reason why they ended up losing to the devils.

aka "passing"....im ok with passing.
- LetsGoIsles

There's a difference with smart, logical passing that breaks you out of the zone and just winding it around the boards to another jersey.

If Al Jazzera needs a hockey writer, you got the job unless Msg get's to you first to tell us how great Ted Drury's bother was.

The Rangers, the team that had one more playoff appearance than the Isles since 1997 going into this year and got that backing in last year as Tampa beat Carolina that gave Richards 20m dollars for 2011-12, to absolutely positively play with Gaborik, and then after ten games discovered both had no chemistry so they were broken up for sixty games, while Richards went on to one of the worst seasons of his career because he's not great at defensive hockey.

PA Parenteau had one more point than Richards.

since i dont except a human like response from cjtml without some sort of insult, cheap shot, disrespect, offensive, or rude comment, if someone else would actually like to discuss if they believe the rangers 3rd/4th line was effective id be curious to hear why they believed that.

You made a post that was implying that the only reason the Rangers had success was due to Lundquist. I believe it's not true and short sighted. That whole team played as a unit. That's why they made it to the conference finals and were first in the conference. It's hard to argue results

not assuming, but is factual that there is more talent on rangers/kings
than there is on Isles,
thought u were trying to say bc of there goalies thats the difference, an not there much more talented players that are on the roster

Yeah, those Rangers suck. Terrible teams always finish first in the conference and make it to the conf finals. What do you have for your next act? BTW, Wang is looking for a new writer. Thought there wasn't anyone more homerish and blinded by losing and stupidity more than Dee, than you came along.

He made very clear he's only hear to criticize, and terrified to give his own views beyond Staios should be resigned as a 6/7 defender. I guess he knows we would all have a good laugh if he had to make the first guess because he ran from giving us his own plan faster than Hospidar ran from Gilles or Kate Murray would from a Lighthouse vote.

Son I dont know really who you are but man oh man you got me laughing over here. Someone warned me about you and they were right. Witt, Hunter?? Moulson I will give you credie for. Paranteau was a hope and a prayer and now he is walking. If Snow was a great GM and actually though PA had talent he would have been resigned by now. Grabner umm one good year does not mean anything. Roloson? He was like 50 years old and all he did was complain the Islanders won nothing with him. The Wiz lasted a whole whopping year.

Nabakov wants to stay here cause this was the only place he could be the number one goalie. He even said that he resigned not to be a mentor but knew this was his best shot of being number one. If any other team called him and said we think you could be our number one he would have bolted. Nielson fine and the other young talent ok. Lets face it buddy there is no pressure here to win at all. There is not a winning attitude here from Wang all teh way tot he players. Only maybe 2 or 3 players showed heart last year that being Tavares, Hamonic and on occasion Moulson. It is easy to play here. Hell I could go try out and probably make the team. Wake up and smell the coffee, this team is far far away from anything and they will be rebuilding for years, until Wang either gets his arena or until he has no other choice but to sell
