I personally don't mind the Kessel deal....we traded what turned out to be a top 5 for a proven top 5 21 year old sniper..IMO they cancel each other out, so it really cost us a 1st and a 2nd, which we recovered later trading existing assets...did it technically set us back a 1st and a 2nd? Yes....but the Calgary trade of our crap helped in the Aulie/Ashton deal so theres the missing 1st....and we were lucky to get an additional 2nd in the Kaberle/Colborne deal so there's the missing 2nd.....the Beach deal for Gardiner doesn't count cuz we signed Beach UFA...would I want to do that Kessel type deal for Nash or Luongo? Absolutely not...But I'm glad we have Kessel

OK ... Ya can't lump every trade BB has done to justify the Kessel trade .
While I like having Kessel on the team , hindsight would have you believe we overpaid . But GM's don't have a crystal ball (SEE LOCATION)

But if people think that Burke hasn't improved this team since being here , they are either haters or really dumb

We're not talking about the trade per say, but Burke's maneuvering. You keep saying that Crosby's the starting point for Edmonton's first so... We can't discuss that cuz we don't have Crosby!

Scoring goals is great. But at some point, maybe you gotta look at the other column. Maybe decreasing the number of goals against would also work in Edmonton's favor?

Like, Edmonton's got a pretty strong top six, yes Yakupov makes it stronger, but, wouldn't you think that with above average goaltending and a stronger D, being 19th overall in goals for may not be an issue? Not to mention RNH, Hall, Eberle all coming back with another year under their belt?
