Clowe

should be some of the targets this offseason. All players are realistic when it comes to trades. - jbold
I think Staal would be easier to get than Getzlaf. I agree with Stewart, Prust and Jackman though. If they can't get Luongo they should go for Harding or maybe even Bernier. |

Aside from all the usual things that people say the Canucks need i.e. toughness, grit, certain positions etc. etc. etc., I think an injection of youth and energy would do wonders for the Canucks. I don't know if it's just me, but I get the sense that sometimes some of "the regulars" have gotten a little too comfortable in their jobs. The Leafs had the same problem when "The Muskoka 5" were still around. - As_I_See_It
Thats how I feel with bieksa sometimes he does't break a sweat during the whole game. |

Clowe is old, prust is useless, jackman is old, getzlaf is good, umberger has a crap contract and is not a center, chris stewart is the best man out of your whole list that is realistically we can get. |

Vancouver is starting the early stages of Calgaryitus. Hold on to aging stars and try to bandaid your way into a playoff spot. Calgary made their run to the final, then held on to aging stars, until they're worth diminished. Something like the Muskoka 5 debacle, in Toronto. That was about a stage 3, of Calgaryitus. Calgary is already at stage 5, collapse and realize that your a lottery team, with an aging core that isn't going anywhere, for the next years. - PrinceLH
Except Calgary only had one good forward, one good goalie, and a bunch of hardworking role-players that overachieved...
Canucks are in nowhere near as bad a shape as Calgary was after they went to the finals.
They don't have the elite talent to replace the Sedins after they retire, but they are far deeper than Calgary, and have a better (but not by a whole lot) prospect pool.
Could they end up with the same fate as Calgary? Sure. But the future doesn't look anywhere near that bleak yet. |

Pfft... duhhh... Ha, I knew that... I meant 2013, silly... And I know what you're thinking... You were expecting to get more for Roberto right? Well it's too bad you won't in real life that's about as close as they come - OilerFanFromBC
Will you be around to admit how wrong you were when Lou fetches more than Komi, Percy, and a 3rd? |

OK so...
VAN: Komisarek, Percy, 3rd rounder
TOR: Luongo
Then
PIT: Staal
TOR: Schenn, 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder(VAN)
Then
Draft Griegorenko or Galchenyuk (I think Forsberg will be taken)
Then
Sign d-man Jackman and Morrisonn
Which means...
F1. Lupul - Staal - Kessel
F2. Kulemin - Grabovski - Bozak
F3. MacArthur - Grigorenko - Connolly
F4. Lombardi - Steckel - Orr
D1. Phaneuf - Liles
D2. Gardiner - Gunnersson
D3. Jackman - Morrisonn
G1. Luongo
G2. Reimer
Go Leafs! - OilerFanFromBC
Why would you trade so much for Staal. I think Kulimen has had more points than him in the past. Has he even broken 60 points yet? |

I'd roll the dice on bernier before harding but I wouldn't want either one as my number one. If they think Reimer can be the guy, they need a veteran to help him. I think it will be Lu but if not, I'd roll the dice on Theodore or try to get Nabakov. |

Missed call??
Rule 83.4 of the AHL rule book states,
“If the puck is shot on goal during a delayed off-side, the play should be allowed to continue under the normal clearing-the-zone rules. Should the puck, as a result of this shot, enter the defending team’s goal, either directly or off the goalkeeper, a player or an official on the ice, the goal shall be disallowed as the original shot was offside. The fact that the attacking team may have cleared the zone prior to the puck entering the goal has no bearing on this ruling.
“The only way a team can score on a delayed off-side situation is if the defending team shoots or puts the puck into their own net without action or contact by the defending team.” |

John Bartlett ?@BartsBytes
It all comes down to the interpretation of the rule, which doesn’t say anything about an off-side shot that goes off the glass and in net.

Correct, but it also says the only way it can count is if the defenders put it in. Pretty cut and dry.

Norfolk are a great team, they had won like 20 games in a row at a point this year, it will be hard for a comeback to happen but you never know. |
