Nope. He was a healthy scratch because he sucked. - Unholy_Goalie
Nope.
Ah, kinda hard to suck when you're on the IR
Komisarek returned on Feb. 14th. At that point the Leafs' slide was only a couple games. Previous to the Leafs 6-3 victory against the Oilers on February 6th, the Leafs D and the Leafs as a whole had a pretty solid January.
Again, the Leafs were playing well, but had lost a couple games and it was at that point that Komisarek was reentered the line-up.

dear noname,
i know we have had our differences over the years but i just wanted to say ive been looking for a fit, clean and courageous man to fill me in with Eklund's updates, my mother is taking away the internet and with all this beef jerky i eat, I wont be able to afford the internal web by myself, sincerely, UG. - big_dion
You mean to say that you are getting schooled by the 12yrs old on a daily basis? Must suck.... |

Precisely, therefore he wasn't a healthy scratch. - As_I_See_It
No, I think you are missing the definition of a healthy scratch.
A team is allowed to carry 23 men on the active roster. But only allowed to dress 20.
So each game, they submit a list of the 20 guys who dress -and the other three are "healthy scratches."
Komisarek was a "healthy scratch" 15 times last year:
http://www.nhl.com/ice/pl...htm?id=8469460&view=notes
That's not an arbitrary opinion - it's a statistic from the NHL.
When he was injured, he was "out with injury". That was for 22 games total (the Leafs played 22 games when Komi was not on the active roster).
He was on the active roster for 60 games, meaning he was healthy enough to play in 60 of them. But for 15 of them, the coach thought that he had 6 better defenceman who he wanted on the ice.
Once again, sorry.

what are you hearing?
typical youth selloff?
draft schmaft type BS? - Dozzer
Luongo is for real, so is overpaying for a supposed #1 centre (don't worry, its not Thornton UG) but it is a guy Burke believes is a #1 centre, and that in itself worries me.
Not all is bad, Burke is trying to move up in the draft-----and get Gally, which is fine, its how he is going to do it that could be the issue. Again, a UG argument that Burke will have to overpay to get there will rear its ugly head if it happens. And if he fails, he'll be going to plan B, which, based on the last time he went to plan B, (missing out on the Sedins, signing Kessel to the deal he did) could be a mess.
Gardiner is safe folks.....everyone not named Phaneuf/Kessel and Grabo is not. That's not a bad thing for many of you, but I'm not sure that what he's trying to add is really an upgrade.....regardless, there is no chance we'll be drafting top 5 again in the forseeable future, there might be no chance we'll be drafting top 5 in this draft.
On the bright side, we might be a playoff team after all these moves. But like i said, those wanting a solid foundation and something sustainable aren't going to like all the question marks that may arise from this activity.
If you want names, well, my guys aren't as forthcoming outside of Luongo, which is common knowledge. But the usual suspects: Stastny, (Jordan not Eric) Staal are obviously some of the guys I think they're referencing. Again its not who might be coming that is the issue, its what we give up. |

If he was not on the IR, and was not pencilled into the lineup, that's a healthy scratch. |
