This is so absolutely incorrect, it's laughable. - Fosco
Yet you are trolling on a Leafs thread, and not shooting down ideas like accepting Komisarek and Connolly in a trade.
But I love a man who exudes inner confidence.
It's darn sexy. |

Komisarek and a 6 or 7th rounder moves you up a spot in the top 5? Or did I read that wrong? - GuyLaDouche
Probably a 3rd rounder, in 2013 and Komi might get you a move to 4 from 5. I would be in favour of this, because it would be an easier move from 4 to 2, if you can make that deal. |

I don't think it's a matter of either/or.
If the picks/prospects are good, the Canucks will take a bad contract.
They won't take guys like Armstrong/Connolly without getting something of value, as well.
Taking the bad contract is only to alleviate Lou's cap hit, the good young player/prospect/pick will be the asset that is traded FOR Luongo. - Fosco
you need to understand the position gillis is in, luongo's contract nullifies his value as a player
you wont be getting a positive return on that contract.. no chance.
you will either take a minimal return, or pay with your own prospects / picks to salary dump him
them the ropes of the cap era NHL.. many deals have occured to support my argument, you'd be hard pressed to name even one deal where a lifetime contract or even just an overpriced one got moved for a gain by the team moving the bad deal |

My point was Komi negatively impacts the value of a trade package. Take him out of it completely and the deal gets better. |

Can you get into the insurance side, too?
That's easy money once you develop a book. Basically get people to re-up every year, and watch the money roll in. |

I like Dangle, but he can be a bit of a twit. I am kinda suprized that is the only thing you found wrong with my post. - Artyukhin76
You can't change the outcome, it was a huge error by the officials. Only beef I have is,
1) The league issued a statement acknowledging the mistake but no apology
2) The league could have apologized to the fans who paid money and were at that moment ripped off because of this huge error. A simple, "we apologize to the fans that the OT goal of this important game was due to a mistake on our part". |

No questions at all.. wilson's system was a grave yard for stay at home D
he tried a run and gun approach because of the pathetic size of the forwards and it f'd everything up throughout the lineup - Dozzer
You could see an obvious disconnect between Burke and Wilson. Burke was loading the back end with big bodies to clear the front of the net and clog the corners and boards, while Wilson was trying to make them mobile on the fly D. None of them really played that way in their careers, other than Gardiner and maybe Liles. Wilson tried having Schenn and Komi cover for their D partner rushing like a 4th forward. It lead to a ton of odd man rushes, bumbled plays, lack of support, and a complete breakdown of confidence |

excellent post. love the bolded.
people need to learn that regular healthy scratches with massive contrats do not hold value. Komisarek has less value than Tomas Kaberle. well, maybe it's a push. - DoubleDown
While your statement is generally true, it doesn't apply to Komisarek this season. What "people need to learn" is how to do some research...
- Komisarek played 45 games this season - Fact.
- Komisarek broke his arm and missed nearly 3 months Mid Nov. - Mid Feb. - Fact.
- While Komisarek was injured, the Leafs played 37 games - Fact.
- Add Komisarek's GP (45) and games missed due to injury (37) = 82 - Fact.
- There are 82 games in the NHL regular season - Fact.
So my question to you is, how many games do you think Komisarek was scratched for this season?
Ding. Ding. Class dismissed... FACT! |

His trade value, if any, is minimal. Just accept this. |
