The AHL issued a press release saying the goal was in error but no where did they apologize for it in the statement.

No, that just made it a fact that that particular deal will not occur.

I don't think the offer was enough. If the Canucks take Komi's contract, the Leafs need to offer more. If Lou does go to the Leafs, and a bad contract is taken back, I expect Franson will likely be part of the deal.

Something along the lines of Komi/Armstrong/Connolly + Franson + TO's 2nd, for Lou + Van's 2nd.

But I'm no longer convinced he's going to TO.
