he has better chance of being a no2 or 3 here than any where else
plus he wants to play with gardiner, so i've heard - bobbyisno1
nothing more than rumour.. i guarantee you wont be able to find anything where he confirmed this and was targetting toronto
secondly, he would have to displace phaneuf or liles to be a top two pairing AND play with gardiner as his partner |

so people think...I actually disagree....i think the actual unbiased critics and or analysts can ACTUALLY see a good progress and direction....imo, hes got another 2-3 years before any added pressure comes about for his job. - noename09
Oh no he has made some progress dont get me wrong... I think its gonna be more fan pressure that gets him fired (like Wilson). He has spit out more crap outta his mouth than his butt as the GM of this team. He's a diva and fans are getting sick of it. |

sure he is.. but there would have to be more player movement,
phaneif is a lock, liles as well, gardiner and schenn will play, gunnarson if he is still here, then you got franson, komisarek, and holzer vying for the 6th spot
too many bodies.. to bring shultz in burke would have to clear out a regular spot for him, and they arent going to sit franson and komi ALL season long.
schultz and his agent will indeed take this dynamic into consideration.. there are other teams that are in a position to offer him more and better playing time - Dozzer
Again, I honestly think this won't be a problem. I think that if Burke is going to negotiate or have contract discussions, he knows what he'll have to do. Remember, Burke drafted this kid and he knows Schultz wants to play with Gardiner (Like that's news)... Franson and Gunnarson can easily be moved to open a spot for Schultz. They sat Komisarek for stretches last year too, the playing time thing... IMO, it's not going to be an issue. I honestly think Schultz is going to be a Leaf.
And damnit I hope I'm right... |

Pretty sure Anaheim has lots of room on D. Doesn't seem like he was too motivated to play there. - ILoveLamp
sigh
i'm done here.. there is nothing tangible other than a loose rumour that he wants to play with gardiner tying him to the leafs.
if we get him great.. but dont think for one second that aquiring schultz is at the top of burke's to do list |

Not on the top....but definitely somewhere in the middle imo.
His top priorities should be goaltending and a 1C.

Its an option... That's all it is. Every other team minus the ducks have the same chance at this point of signing the guy because he hasnt tipped his hat yet. |

What do you think it would cost Burkie to get Statsny? |

this should be a fun and easy summer for us...all we need to do is try and get a 1C, 1G and pursue a young coveted free agent to sign with us.
oh, and try to trade Komisarek

oh i dont deny burke is looking at the idea.. but so are 29 other GMs..
and if burke was convinced the kid wanted to play here.. throw anaheim a prospect or pick and remove the chance of him signing elsewhere entirely |

yup, if burke was so certain he could sign him he should make an offer to the ducks of a late pick.. just to keep that window open (favorite trading partner)
Burke already burned them with lupul and gardiner.. if he poaches schultz, anaheim may not want to deal with him anymore |
