assuming he gets/stays healthy he should be a great addition to the Pens. He still has skill and can push MAF for time and keep him fresh come the playoffs and provide relief whenever needed.

I think it's a good move. Fleury will still play the lion's share (55 games) and Vokoun will spot him 25 or so. Last time Fleury played so few games it was because of injury, but the Pens also had their best goaltending (season and playoffs) in a while.
I think everyone is missing the point , I think MAF is part of a package thats going to CBJ and will net you guys Nash then Vokoun will be relied upon to start. Gutsy.

We cant make that deal, we are already trading Fleury and Staal to Chicago for Bolland and Crawford.

Doubt it, considering the CBA is set to expire and Pens have a few key contracts to deal with in the immediate and not too distant future. Taking on Nash's 5th highest cap hit at $7.8M makes 0 sense!
Furthermore, why would the Pens trade a young top tier all-star goalie only to be left with an aging goalie with serious groin issues? Stud goalies just aren't available like wingers are.

This move is about depth and nothing more.

MAF was the worst against Phili in the playoffs. I hope you're right though because if Pittsburgh isnt offering MAF for Nash then the Hawks have the next best package by including Kane+ , we'll see.

He isnt on the block so you dont have to worry about it. And if he sucks so bad why do you want him?
Solid pickup for the Pens. They now have one of the best goalie combos in the league. I don't see Vokoun being a problem since he knows what his role will be.

I still don't know why WSH traded him to PIT. I would've said piss on the 7th and let him become a UFA hoping he signs in the West or with a team that won't make the playoffs next year.

Maybe Vokoun said I am going there anyways, want to get something for me now?

Kind of strange, they must have high hopes for the 7th rounder.

It's possible, McPhee gave Shero permission to talk to him so that could be exactly how it went. - canadianpenfan
Why even give permission? To me it's quite obvious that he did give permission, as you don't sign a guy that quickly after trading for him. Nice gesture by McPhee, but now it's something that could very well bite them in the arse.
