Jackel and co were singing songs about Oduya down the stretch after the TDL when the Hawks turned it around but seemed to leave him for dead after the playoffs. I think he's a decent defender if a tad overpriced, but what do you expect with a UFA.

I had heard weeks ago it was going to be Gardiner at first. Then everyone comes in and says no way in hell. His name has been linked by Vancouver media also.


I always respect your trades Scoob ,but no way I want a 4.2 Mil 7 th Dman.

As much as Leaf fans on here think Lu is joke,the people who actually do the trades know much more. Lu gets the Leafs into the playoffs and a competitor.Vokun will do little. Gillis does not have to make any deal and Burke knows he has to make the playoffs thsi year.

I agree with this entirely. People think somehow the Canucks have no leverage, when in fact we can afford to keep them both, and it's teams like TO and CLS whose GMs have a mountain of pressure to make substantial improvements (nowhere more so than in goal).

I think Luongo will get traded for around the same we traded for him. Your looking for a good yet problem prone player (ala Bert) a depth bottom 6 or bottom 3 Dman, and a prospect or 2. Those same GMs that want a top 10 goalie know that Schneider wants to start and he is UFA next year, thus they can get him for nothing...
