They have done nothing. And of course I am to assume that they will never do anything for as long as the franchise exists. Correct ?

In all seriousness though, if you think those players are overrated, you don't follow hockey very much. Those guys you listed get sh1t on constantly.

And try not to be too hard on OilHorse. He's stressed out lately because he's trying to capture Magnotta.

I actually like Gagne, I also think MPS has great potential. I don't believe Hemsky is worth anything but that has nothing to do with his ability. It has everything to do with his durability.

I was commenting more on the fact that these players are over valued by the Oiler faithful in terms of what the team should receive in a possible deal. Not just with Winnipeg, but with any team. Hall, RNH and Eberle are assets that hold value, whereas MPS, Hemsky and Gagne are accent pieces.

Hemsky could very well be worth a high return......just not yet. He would have to prove that he can remain healthy. He has high-end skill, there is no doubting that.

The whole idea at the beginning of this post was wether or not Enstrom was enough to get the Oilers #1 pick. Not close. I would give Byfuglien and the Jets 1st instead. Either that, or package Buff and Enstrom for the Oilers #1 and keep your #9 pick.

The Jets are deep at D so that would allow players like Mark Flood and Grant Clitsome to be in the lineup every night. It would also give the Oilers what they so sorely need; a top defense pairing that will log huge minutes. Either way, it's win-win.

This is Cheveldayoff's chance to make a splash and put his fingerprint on this club's future. In order to get value, you have to give up commodoties.

Unlike others who have posted, my ideas are not over-valuing players, and I am not posting ideas that are meant to demean another franchise or its fanbase.

And I agree that Hemsky isn't worth much, because of him being injury prone. The guy is made of glass.

I wouldn't want to trade PRV at the moment, because his stock is low at the moment.

I think Gagner is underrated around the league, because I think people don't realize how young he is. His offensive numbers haven't improved, but he is playing a better overall game... He's also awesome when he's playing with top-end talent. When he had the chance to play with some of our top guys this year, he was fantastic. That being said, he wouldn't bring in a huge return at the moment. I'd rather hang onto the guy.

I'd split up the talent next season, and have something like this...

Hall ~ Gagner ~ Nuge
Hemsky ~ RNH ~ Yakupov
