Well guys. I was rootin' for you. I missed my playoff draft the computer auto drafted my team and gave me Lundqvist....I was in the lead and the guy behind me had Quick.

Jimbo, excellent blog. Here is my view on the issues you address:

28th pick I think the Rangers can use this pick on whatever they want, and I agree with you that maybe a goaltender wouldn't be a bad idea. I do think, however, that if the Rangers are in the trade market this summer, the 1st round pick will be an obvious chip to use, given the fact that the Rangers are already extremely young, with more guys in the pipeline.

Justin Schultz I am all for making a run at Justin Schultz, which would create even more of a logjam on the Rangers backline, especially if Sauer can return healthy. But, as you said, the Rangers can then you some of their orginizational depth in a trade to acquire help up front.

Brandon Dubinsky If the Rangers are interested in adding a big ticket player, he will be the obvious guy going that could get moved. I don't view him as a pure salary dump, however. I think the Rangers can actually get something for him, because he can be a valuable player. Maybe he is a third liner, but I can see him re-bounding from a sub-par year, and scoring 20-25 goals (maybe not for he Rangers).

Nash and Parise Obviously, I would prefer Parise because I think he fits better with the Rangers, and wouldn't cost anything more than money. I don't see him being the type to jump ship from the Devils, but given the fact that he signed a very, very favorable contract for the organization the last time around, I don't think he will deal very well with the Devils trying to nickel and dime him. They need to pay the man, and if they don't, I think the Rangers will be in it for him. I still like Rick Nash, but he price has to be much lower than it was at the deadline. Otherwise, the Rangers can explore other trade options.

The 2013 UFA Class I realize that we are in win now mode, but the 2013 UFA class is absurd. I would love it if the Rangers had some excess money to play with that summer, although with the guys they need to re-sign, I think doing so would probably mean getting rid of that last year of Gaborik's contract.

Again, excellent blog, Jimbo.

28th Pick I like Stefan Matteau of course but in the event that he is unavailable I am in agreement that we need to draft a goaltender, with zero in the system I like Malcom Subban

Justin Shultz 2 words...Hell Yes!

On the rest, Trade Dubi to free up $ for either Parise and/or Schultz and future RFA''s. Bringing back Prust is a no brainer but I hope he isn't expecting to really break the bank.

For the love of god, stay away from Parise.

If he leaves NJ, so be it, but let the guy go somewhere that will give him a fighting chance of having a long and fruitful career.

Haven't you guys ruined enough player's careers by stealing them from the Devil's only to have them become the worst possible version of themselves?

The Hudson is cursed, and crossing that line, upsets the hockey gods. Parise is the corner piece of USA hockey for years to come, don't ruin that for all of us.

Great job Jimmy, couldn't imagine having to write these blogs like you & Pete (and Glen tomorrow) have done after the dissapointing loss on FRIDAY.

It is still hard for me to move on yet. Consumed by what might have been, if only Richards & Gaborik could outscore Ryan Carter, or if we could have 1 time, 1 time played with a killer instinct when leading in a series. Yada, yada, yada. But, its over.

It feels like a funeral, I need to hear people talking about to make me feel better.

Reading some articles written by the beat writers today and Devils fan are still chirping, they really have no clue how to win, you'd think with their "prowess" they'd have a clue by now, knowing defeat makes winning sweeter and knowing a Devils fan makes it that much sweeter.

I don't know, I'm actually surprised at least on here the amount of NJ & other fans who have been classy. No real troll fest, which is very surprising.

I am not in Jersey & know very few Devil fans besides this board so its a little easier on me, for you & Frankie & others in NJ it must be different, sorry Vin.

Good job Jim!

Del Zotto needs to be retained; he is too young and talented to quit on because of a poor playoff performance.

No on Parise and Suter, HELL NO actually. The Rangers need to tweak the roster, not add a ridiculous longterm salary; players are due for raises(Del Zotto, McDonagh and Stepan) plus Hank in two seasons.

The Senators blogger wrote up a great piece on who the Rangers should draft; the Swedish goalie Dansk. I like the Rangers drafting a goalie and another Swede no less.

Schultz is interesting and I think they will go after him simply because Sauer might not be coming back anytime soon.

No on Biron, yes on Prust.

Dubinsky might be the central player traded, if they are looking for an upgrade via trade, but I actually would like to see him back here to prove himself.

He loves this team, he is a popular teammate and Tortorella trusts him.

I would like to see the Nash option be revisited; still think he fits in here.

Great job Jimbo. Agree with almost everything. I'm on the fence about Nash and Schultz. Schultz can play, nobody disagrees with that. However, what kind of message would that send to Erixon and McIlrath? I'm not going to rehash the Nash drama. I would like the Rangers to stay away from him, others want him on this team. Agree to disagree.

On a side note, would love for the team tp draft Dansk or Vasileski(sp?) at the 28thgame spot.

Some Devils fans are really good about it. Listen you can't hate on them for being happy. I haven't seen anyone come on these boards and rub it in.

They earned the right to be proud of their team; now other fans like Pens and Isles fans making fun of the Rangers on their own threads is a little retarded. To each his own I guess.

Haha that's indeed hilarious. I've seen worse. On the Buffalo Bills message boards, if you say the word "vague", the first three letters are blocked out. But you can say ass and Richard
