have you looked at Briere's playoff stats compared to all players on your roster? just curious... - big_dion
yeh I am with you. Briere earns his money in the post season. |

But no one gets paid in the post season. So wouldn't that mean even a guy like, lets say Semin who did nothing except skate 'hard' earned his money? |

If there's a lockout for all 2012-2013 season, what will happened with the 2013 draft order ? a full lottery like the Crosby year ? - HabsKovalev27
In that year, even though all 30 had a chance at #1, it was still heavily weighted towards the teams who were bottom feeders the year before. |

no. because ironically while guys aren't getting paid in the post-season, by playing well and extending the playoffs they are making their teams millions more. |

False.
Good play in the playoffs is taken into consideration when negotiating their next contract.
For instance, if it wasn't for this year's playoffs, do you think that Penner would get as much as he will probably get this offseason? |

So the Bruins, who have managed their cap money well, lose because they shouldn't have or didn't need to. I enjoy knowing that other teams with poor financial managers for decision makers are unable to bid on players because of their shortsightedness.
Why should we be penalized for excellent cap management?

If someone pays Penner anymore then he is getting now, it will be the biggest mistake since Gomez |

what happens if savard gets better and now you have to resign seguin |

if you had 6 defensemen on the team better than Michalek, do you feel like you should be forced to play him because a Devils fan doesn't like the contract you gave him? or would you rather him be sent to the minors because he isn't good enough? - jimbro83
You should have to live with your mistakes. Doing this takes accountability on GM's and owners out of the game. It's a slippery slope.

Savard isn't ever returning to the ice as a Bruin. Almost a fact.
LTIR is different than amnesty. |

Hopefully there will be more owners that think this way then think that every CBA is their big chance for a do over.

Savard has a hug cap hit of 4 mil, I'm sure if he gets a brain transplant and is healthy to return, the Bruins will be able to find the room for him without having to sacrifice Seguin
Also, I doubt teams will be allowed to buy out a player who is on LTIR |

Kings are winning the Stanley Cup, going through not only the hardest schedule ever (1-2-3-1) but also possibly the most dominant playoff performance ever.
I don't believe in jinx's, nor do I care that I am a homer.
As far as this CBA goes, I hope they don't sign it for a year or two so the Kings can be Stanley Cup champs for a while. |

Kings roster only gets stronger next year, I'd rather gamble for another run than go a year without hockey. |

He's not going to be cleared to play. He's still messed up and hasn't played for almost a year.
It's not surprising that amnesty supporters are Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia, Vancouver and Rangers fans.

Toronto only slightly... No one has crippling contracts, just large ones compared to their skill level ex. Komi + Lombardi both around 4-5 million. Not like it's 7-9 million like some teams. Toronto can survive without the Salary dump. 1 more year and I believe those contracts are off the books anyway. |
