BREAKING NEWS PHILLIES:
Phillies acquired OF Kyle Hudson from the Rays for OF Rich Thompson. Hudson, who was swapped from the Rangers to the Rays at the end of spring training, was hitting .291/.378/.318 with eight RBI, seven stolen bases and a .696 OPS over his first 33 games with Triple-A Durham. While the 25-year-old knows how to draw a walk and can steal some bases, he has never hit a home run as a professional. He'll likely serve as outfield depth at the Triple-A level.

LOL agreed. I can't wait to see te comments when LA hoists the cup. Homer should be fired etc!! - Hextall271
That's why I've been anti-Kings. But I have to admit enjoying seeing Carter get hot last night. And I really like his understated goal celebration. Doesn't matter how oatmeal his personality. Kid has something to offer on the ice. |

Perhaps, except Lupul wasn't in Anaheim. He was shipped to Edmonton prior to that season for Pronger. |

Skip. I'm going to ask you nicely could you please not put Phoenix as your favorite team. You picked Washington last round as your name and they lost (now Phoenix is losing). Please select the Rangers or Kings. Thanks. |

Jeff Carter (and Riley Cote) were nothing but polite and courteous to M4 and me at the Season Ticket Holders Meet the Players Night a few years back. We got there early and were using a table to put all of the giveaways into a plastic bag when Cote and Carter showed up to use said table as their "station" to sign autographs. They let me finish stowing things away before setting the table up for themselves.
Still, I wanted him to win here, not out there. Since the Flyers are out... meh. |

Heh. I changed it. I'd changed it to the Pens in 2009 and they won. |

And trading a player away and then trading for him again in the future is against the current CBA? No.
You could argue that it's not in the spirit of a hard salary cap, but then again, front-loaded contracts, stashing players in the minors for pure salary-purposes, delaying the retirement of players due to cap considerations are not exactly in the spirit of fairness and cost-control either. But for the most part, those things are overlooked. - Tomahawk
Yes it is. The sole purpose of making the trade is to stash the Cap responsibilities to another team temporarily to avoid the Cap issues during the Summer. And your not even considering the logistics of it and the roadblocks involved there. Read the CBA section on Cap circumvention. Those things aren't overlooked. None of them are trying to circumvent the Cap. Doing what you suggest is absolutely Cap circumvention and will be looked on as such. |

Perhaps you can list the last 5 SC champs and list their top 4 wingers. Then list ours. - Daman
Perhaps I can. But I realize that it takes an entire team to win a Cup. |

Don't have a favorite to win the cup and don't care either. My team is out so the only reason why I'm watching now is because I love the sport. All I'd wish for is for that each remaining series to go seven and be exciting.
If after all the smoke clears, it's Richards and Carter hoisting the Cup, that'll be fine with me. I'm happy with the deal Homer made. I'd make it again tomorrow. The Flyers seemed to make out well on their end and I couldn't ask for more than that. |

yes you never know...
would you give Hamels 7 years?
I would go 5 and two options...first one player, second one team...
doubt if they will accept that...but in general that might work. |

It would of been nice to square off against the Kings in the SCF though. Nothing the Flyers can do at this point other than to add some pieces and try again next year. |

It would be nice for there to be a compromise. That could be the hold up. But Hamels really doesn't have to compromise. |

it really is pretty simple
Ruben has wanted Charlie out. And he knows the only way he can fire him is if they miss the playoffs.
The season was setup to be a failure from the beginning. |
