Maybe you should read.

He was talking about Grabovski. And he stated a few days ago that he would trade Kessel for Nash.

Can you be anymore clueless? Jesus. You're the biggest moron on this site by far.

- jbold

Yeah, I was talking about trading Kessel for Nash. I just can't see Kessel lining up across from the Rangers, or Washington, or Boston, or about 90 percent of the teams, in the Eastern Conference, and being effective in a playoff game. His game has too many holes, to make him a playoff performer. Nash, on the other hand, has shown that he can be a big game player, in the World Championships and Olympics. Kessel was invisible, in the Olympics. It's not about scoring, it's about winning hockey games and Nash has Kessel beat, when it comes to being there in the clutch.

On Grabovski, he's a second line player, that has topped out at his potential. It was only two years ago, that everyone wanted him out of town. I have to wonder if he'll get too comfortable, with the big contract and no trade clause. He should have been signed for under 5 million, without the no trade clause. Burke panicked, because he couldn't make a deal near the trade deadline and the corus of boo's make him over-react and over pay.

Yeah, Columbus. Name another big time player that's also played for Columbus that he could play with? That franchise has been putrid!

you said it's about winning not scoring....nash has done neither lately.
He played with both Vermette and Carter last season-two guys who look pretty damn good in the final four. Kessel has bozak as his centre playing on a team just as 'putrid' as columbus.

agreed...

also.. nash didnt do sweet diddly all for london when he played here.. scraped into the playoffs one year and missed entirely the second.

nash is an extremely good complimentary player.. he is not a core piece.. this is why columbus has never done anything.. they keep trying to build around nash.

and good day everyone.

I hope to GOD the Leafs get Nash and Luongo this year....that way they can entice Parise to sign here and then make a solid run in the playoffs. If the Devils proves anything, its that defensive hockey and a good goalie can steal you games. Leafs will make it FAR this year when we get Nash, Luongo and Parise.

Getting Nash would only be worth it if the following happens:

1) We give up Komi in the deal
2) We don't give up a 1st rounder
3) We don't give up Gardiner

If all of those 3 occur, I would be pretty happy with the deal (assumign the rest of the pieces are reasonable)

I.e.

Komisarek + 2012 2nd + Kulemin + Schenn

for

Nash + 2012 3rd

Kessel also has Lupul on his wing and Kessel also has a decent second line playing behind him. The year before last, the second line put up better numbers then the Kessel line.

On Carter, he didn't want to even play in Columbus, when Philadelphia backdoored him, before his new contract came into effect and once there, was injured for most of the time. Vermette is at best, a second line player, about the same level as MacArthur.

That is pretty good from our end, but doesn't address enough needs for CBJ.

The only way that they would do that is if Nash truly wanted out and was twisting their hands. They get a star player back with very similar scoring potential, who is younger and has a better contract.

To do this, they drop down 3 spots, and give up a goalie who hasn't worked out well for them.

The problem is that they dont get a replacement goalie int he process, or anyone with a possible way to replace Mason.

I would think one of Rynnas, Scrivens ( ) , or Owuya would have to be included.

You could be right, but also the cap room of losing Mason may be of some help to them. The Komiserek contract, balances out the Kessel and Nash equation. Mason may be a decent gamble, since he has had decent years, outside of last year.

I would take Mason on our team jsut so Reimer has a perfectexample of what not to do after you have the best year of your life... Like I said though, unless they have interest in say Gustavsson or Harding, or Biron, and can actually land one fo them, I doubt they do a deal like that.

this would only be allowed in here... anywhere else and it gets torn to shreds..

Most would say Nash has more value than Kessel and the 2nd is better than the 5th of course. So Mason for Komi evens it out?

I think the leafs have to add a young player to the mix

Leafs would need to add a LOT more. Especially since Columbus was asking 1 NHL ready player, 1 Prospect, plus a top pick for Nash alone lol

Malkin has a habit of not playing to his full potential when Crosby's in the line-up. With Crosby out Malkin DOMINATES. He takes it to a whole new level with Crosby out.

That being said, he's still a superstar with Crosby in the line-up as well.

Not bad....finding that its seemingly tougher to find a new house, than it is selling my current one!

We have looked at a few houses and have been constantly looking online and cant find the perfect balance between features so far. Might have found it, just waiting to go see it soon.

My house will go up tomorrow, so fingers crossed I can sell it within a reasonable time

who? Leo Komarov?

actually i disagree whole heartedly.. the guy is basically the mirror image of tuomo ruutu.. a bottom 6 agitator guy.

he's the type of guy the leafs need actually... however.. since that was supposed to be army's job.. they need to move colby now.

Be careful...I essentially suggested the exact same trade a few days ago (excluding Komi) and am still being harassed by UG as we speak...

He wasn't fond of my analysis....
