Kreider also looked very much like a rookie at times. I'll let him play an 82 game season before I make up my mind one way or another on him.
Wang is a control freak that thinks he knows more than everyone else. My guess is that Snow is, at least partially, a puppet of his. Snow is responsible for some of this, that's undeniable, but you have to look at the big picture. Wang is very clearly a stubborn, egotistical, pigheaded idiot. I completely believe that Snow signing guys like Reasoner, Pando, and Staios (and acquiring Rolston) wasn't a result of Snow thinking that they would help make our team successful, but a result of Snow having to operate on a shoe-string budget allocated to him by Charles Wang. It's the equivalent of being forced to shop in a dollar store...you can buy the best stuff you find there, but in the end it still sucks. - eichiefs9
OK, well how about sigining other third line players that could have probably been signed like I said? There are better ways to bolster payroll then signing shat. Reasoner I expected more from the other signings were shat and everyone knew it. |

Rolston had a 5 million dollar contract. I have to believe Snow could have been a bit more creative in reaching the cap floor.. Even if we overpaid a couple of players. I find it hard to believe that Wang said "Snowman, May I call you Snowman?
"Snowman, Get Rolston so we can get to the cap floor and be done with it". I'm not interested in bringing in quality players with $5,000,000.00 Price tags. "Just get to the cap floor and get the damn thing over with"
"See me next yr." - SCLI
This is my point, every year the same people say he has to reach the floor he's gotta sign a top four Dman and top six forward just to reach the floor, you wait and see! Snow then goes out and signs Rolston, Mottau, Staios(who I actually don't hate as a six/seven Dman), and Reasoner. Then they say, "well he had to reach the cap floor and its not his fault its Wang's because nobody wants to sign here". The guy has a ton of space to sign players and he goes out and signs absolute garbage. Like i said earlier this is his fault just as much as Wang's. Sure he's on a shoe string budget but so are other teams. The guy HAS to sign players to reach the floor and adding complimentary players to supplement his "great young talent" should not be rocket science. Signing the players he signed or the contracts he took on were laughable. We all knew it when he signed them, we knew it a month into the season and we ALL know it now. Gimme a break already. |

Kreider has looked incredible, especially since considering the kid got called up right into the playoffs never playing in the NHL. Every description you had for Wang in this post Snow could be labled with. Stubborn, egotistical, pig headed and by more than not an idiot. His trades and call ups, coaching staff(and continued supprt of that very coaching staff), lack there of call ups, development of players. You can blame Wang for all of these things but I'd have to laugh at you. Just watch an interview with the guy. What do you think, Wang is behind him with a cattle prod? I'm no fan of Wang and think the guy is the antichrist(as all Islander fans should IMO)but to think this is all Wangs doing is laughable. A LARGE part of the blame rests firmly on Snow's shoulders(and when all is said and done will be remembered as such) as well as it should. |

Yes Kreider has his incredible moments and looked spectacular, but he had plenty of crappy shifts, some of which led to goals, which is perfectly acceptable for a rookie.
Wang has a long history of running things in a blatantly nepotistic manner, and Snow being hired as GM is no different. He puts people in place that he can control and influence their decisions when he can't openly do it himself. I never said Wang is solely to blame and I clearly admitted that Snow is undoubtedly deserving of blame. But Wang is pulling the strings from the top and influencing likely way more than we know. It's literally the exact reason Neil Smith quit. |

You hit the nail on the head by saying Snow is just like Wang and hires people he can influence their decisions. The point being and my point this entire day is that Snow hired them, for better or worse. Snow drafted these kids, for better or worse. Snow signed/traded for all the players mentioned. So far Snow is not doing a good job regardless of Wang. |

I didn't say Snow hired people who's decisions he could influence, I used Wang hiring Snow as an example of the well-known fact that he (Wang) is notorious for doing that. |

R-read it, misinterperted it, bottom line is he did hire these people to play, coach, scout, whatever. Its not a coincidence all these jackasses have Boston accents, I don't think Wang has a thing fro Bostonians? Milbury, Snow, on second thought maybe he does? |

Even if Wang gives Snow no power it's on Snow if he stays. Snow is the one who is hurting his future employment It's not like Wang is going to try to hook up as a GM somewhere else. Both Snow and Wang are the problem and have both failed equally. |

It's all good, and I don't totally disagree with what you say. I just think that sh!t rolls down hill, and it starts rolling from the top.
I'm not saying there is an exact "percentage of blame" that you place on each of them, but to summarize how I feel: I think that if you put 2/3 of the blame on Snow and 1/3 on Wang, I would be the exact opposite. |

Sather should have been named GM of the year for finding someone stupid enough to take Gomez' salary AND give him McDonough and Higgins in the process.
Looking at the Rangers, its hard not to respect the hell out of what they've done. Great coach, great players. I hate the organization with a passion, but I respect what the Rangers have put together since the lockout. Leaps and bounds better job that Crazy Charles and Snow. - Jethro09

you're a fugging jack ass dude.
I am not and haven't been angry at the Islanders in years, I am probably the most Islander friendly Ranger fan you'd ever talk to.
But YOU are a total doosh, you can go eff yourself big time for the Cherepanov comment. - jimbro83
Im still waiting for Sather to trade Snow the rights to Cherepanov.

would u trade our 2008 draft class for theirs?
We get stepan and MDZ... Doyle, Gaulton, Dale Weise, Kundratek,
They get Matt MARTIN, Hamonic, Josh Bailey, Poulin, Donovan, Ullstrom, Ness, Spurgeon, Dibo, Toews, and Petrov (yes I included him b/c the islanders still hold his rights.. not sure why that would make u angry) and Trevino if he ever gets his life straightened out..
(amazing how bringing up Cherepanov is hopped all over.. but having a rapist in the same sentence on the other side was not noticed in the least. Maybe I was just listing picks after all... maybe.. ) - niteislander
accused nothing more & that charge has been dropped. Im not saying the kid doesnt need a solid case of reality hitting him upside the head.. (hopefully this is it)

I was not even saying that I was 100% right or wrong on that draft. I was actually just taking a point of yours and starting a conversation... I realize Petrov and Kabanov are non factors in the NHL right now... they are chips though for the Isles. They may turn into something... or they may end up like Joensuu playing elsewhere forever.. If you told me u would rather the Rangers draft I don't think I would have called u an idiot ... I would have disagreed... only b/c I think in the long run while all those picks might now work out.. some will... and I LOVE Hamonic and Martin.. and am very very Hopeful on Poulin and Donovan.. rest are long shots.
my getting angry at me mentioning Petrov was someone else who threw their 2 cents into our original discussion.

Did we ever figure out what was up with Kabanov? I hear it's not true that he's going to the KHL. - UIF

The main charge was dropped so he can't go to jail for 20 years. The other 4 charges are still pending.. so he could go for 2 or 3 years. I try not to judge to harshly until I hear all the facts. (perfect example was Casey C... ) All the facts point to this kid having some REAL issues. I just don't think the Isles need this kind of headache... we have enough. Let someone else give him his second chance...or is it his 3rd or 4th by now? |

BB was an A-hole in the locker room (his first go around)... We have no idea how this kid is in the locker room. From what I hear he's one hell of a team mate... its off ice he has to correct.
