I did not see the half-assed effort. I think they really tried today but either they are injured or gassed or just badly out of sync. - PT21

Move JVR for a #1 Dman. Let Jagr walk. Bring in a Gaustad type. Sign Carle or preferably upgrade over him. I'd be OK with the forward group - Jagr and JVR plus Rinaldo (his enegrgy would have been nice all series, as long as he reigns in the stupid) and a big mucker grinder checker. I'd be OK with the D-corps if they get a true #1 D-man and get a solid upgrade for the #6 spot.
(frank) it. I can shave now. - Lexington Flyer
Not only is he a underachiever, he has a bog contract. We probably get someone like DiPietro for him at this stage. |

I saw some poor officiating that cost Philly at critical times. Then bad penalties taken by Philly. A sudden absense of break out passes by the Flyers. AND Marty Brodeur. |

Effort was a little too late.
Should Rinaldo have been playing the whole series. I'd take his play over JvR. |

Ok move him in a package for a #1. He wouldn't be the only piece obviously.
Speaking of crack...How'd that overpayment for Leino work out in Buffalo? |

Can't argue that but the Flyers still are our team, nice to show the support. |

you no i am gonna get crucified for this but ... and dont get me wrong he has been a warrior for us... but i think we should move Kimmo.... he is getting older and he is a great d-man but his age is showing and these playoff runs are taking its toll on him... teams would jump at him and we could get a good young prospect or even a good pick plus the cap space would allow us to make a huge offer to Sutter |

If people are picking the Kings for the cup, with all that we've seen in the playoffs this year, then there's a good chance they won't win. - feelingkettle

Question: Did they Flyers take too much joy in beating Pitt in the first round that they lost focus? |

i only saw the final 5 minutes. thank goodness for that. there aren't enough words to describe how crappy the end of the season was. to go 1-6 in the playoffs when scoring first is literally unheard of, to have the series winning goal happen the way it did, to lose 4 straight after winning the opening game, to allow 3 goals minimum in all 5 games, to have their depth shrivel up and die, to have their best player be unavailable because of a stupid, selfish, and dirty hit...with so many top teams knocked out in the first 2 rounds.
there's a lot of talented youth on the team, and they should improve, but only winning 1 more game than last year doesn't have me thinking about that right now.

Not a ridiculous idea, but he has a NMC I believe.

well gentleman as bad as this stings, not many thought this team would be this good this quick. the loss of pronger coupled with the other injuries on the blueline really hurt. time to take this young team and make a few tweaks, solidfy the D, get some good defensive and sound wingers. lets go pheonix i bode you all a goodnight |
|
|
|
If someone said prior to the season, Pronger's career will be ended in November, and the Eastern Conference Finals would be Devils/Rags, I wouldn't have watched a single game. |

I'd do it. Kimmo has said some things this year that have irked me, plus he's leveling off in terms of his play. I also have a sneaking suspicion that he doesn't like Bryz. |

Various people just did not look like they do at other times. Hartnell, Kimmo are the two most obvious examples.
However, people need to stop pretending we are 1-2 pieces away from the cup. Its not gonna happen next year either. Then its the post-kimmo era |

Well a decent season considering all the turnover.
Instead of blame I am kind of curious what the seasons end interviews with the players will be like.
I expect the scapegoat bandwagon to be out in full force. There were far to many invisible players to pick on Bryz, JVR, Carle etc.
The Devs are a better team. Talent alone does not constitute the better team. We showed that against the Pens.
Kudos to the devils for their disciplined play after the whistle. |
