I don't know why its comical to you? Players retire due to injuries in sports all the time. - Cptmjl
The only way he retires due to injury is if he gets some sort of insurance payout. Like I said.. he is not leaving 4.5 mill a year on table. |

Wang will sell to the highest bidder.. and that will be someone in Quebec. The cable contract is only a factor if he was going to keep the team. I don't think that will happen. - niteislander
They are not moving to Quebec, Kansas City, Seattle, across the ocean they are not moving anywhere so just let it go |

So in that case he should retire. Good to see you are on the good side - kasperrko
I do wish he would go away. But he does have a right to do it on his own terms. |

His own terms? He is selfish so he will make the team and the fans suffer until his contract runs out cause he has to much pride thinking he is something that he is not |

I hope you're right Kasper I really do.. but if Phx doesn't go there very very soon. They are not building a 400 million dollar Arena for the "hope" of being granted a team. |

If anyone buys the Islanders it will be the Nets owners who own the Barclay Center in Brooklyn...remember they need fill the arena for another 41 dates... |

LEt it be known that Bettman wants more expansion teams. Bettman also does not want the Islanders to move away from Long Island no matter what and Brooklyn is the best answer no matter what. This team will be here bank on it and Quebec was never promised a team or anything they built it to see if the NHL would budge and from what I am reading Bettman could care less they built an arena |

But he cant play so he should just give up. He has said that he is 100% healthy every year and gets hurt. I dont want to bring anything up but when you DO "certain things" and then stop your body breaks down and there is no recovery |

I know Ek's story is complete B.S.... but it would be nice to have the Islanders do something exciting for once. I would just like to have a few days where we wern't talking about DP and coupon cutting on these boards. |

Here is my take on DP
Although he is injured, and can barley play, his cap hasn't restrained us of anything. Also he does have a positive attitude and I hear from those who have met him nothing but nice things about him. I feel ba though because all he wants is to come back and be healthy and help the team that put so much faith in him
Also reminder: NHL twitter announces JT and Ebs was the closest cover vote rate
So EVERYONE VOTE JT |

my point is you can't ask someone to stop getting paid..its pointless because none of us would do it if we were asked to |

After being banned for a few days I come back and the first article is about Rick Dipietro. I swear God hates me. Again and I have been saying this for years and years. RICKY D IS DONE!!! He has more surgeries then a dog that has gotten hit by a car. He is more fake then PAmela Anderson. He is more robotic parts then ROBO COP he is done!!! We should not be having this converstaion anymore in regards to Rick D/ This year he will either be bought by the CBA rule thingy or release or whatever. MAybe he can play goalie for the Chinese Hockey League. Keep him away from my team at all costs. He does nothing to benefit this team and never will. He was amistake when his name was announced and still is today. We have so much talent in the goaltending position it is not funny. So to my buddy Rick D good bye friend nice knowing you and dont let the door hit you in the ass as you go out with your head up high. Oh and dont forget you can always be a model they love fake people - kasperrko
Last line very funny! My belief is either a cba amnesty buyout or unfortunately he will come to camp to compete. Let's hope his play dictates waivers and a ticket from Pt. Jeff to Bridgeport. |

Stop working?? He has not worked for years and he sucks at his job so yeah time for a career change. When baseball realize that they cant hit anymore they walk away. When football realize after so many injuries that they cant do there job they walk away. So yeah I expect him tot do the same for the sake of his health and for the team that he loves - kasperrko
best of both worlds...he doesnt work and gets paid!!! youd walk away from that? |

Yeah, okay. It's easier to say that because your not in the situation. I've never read posts from someone so angelic before. Everyone should be like you. |
