He's got to be bought out if not he needs to be in the minors. No way he should be allowed to start another season in NHL until he proves he can stay healthy for 5 seconds. Isles need to wrap up this DP and also the building mess once and for all. |

This whole situation is one of the many reasons why the Islanders are considered a joke. DiPietro is a very wealthy man and needs to be a man and step up and just work out his retirement with Wanger, afterall they are good buddies right? Wang made his deal right? Wasn't Snow, it was Wang. Remember? I'm sure these good buddies could work something out. |

Wang should do his best Old Yeller impression and take him out behind the "Old Barn" and euthanize him. |

He'll come to camp & see if he can earn a spot as a back up.. which would be the best case for Poulin & Nilsson who can use another season in the A. If he cant beat out one of kids then send him to the minors.

DP really does need to step up and do the right thing. The Isles were good to him and more than patient. It's not right he bring nothing to this team at this point but distraction. This deal was all on Wang. DP should have been given a 5 year deal. No more especially since they won nothing with the guy. |

Poulin should not need another year in bridge. I would be worried if he did. DP should be the clear guy to go to the minors. If he can somehow beat out these kids that's a big problem. |

I think it's about time he's ready for a backup role. Schneider spent 3 years in the AHL and then got the backup job. He was developed the right way. |

Why would you be worried? If I'm reading their stats right, Pekka Rinne spent three seasons in the AHL, as did Ryan Miller in addition to spending three seasons in NCAA before that after his draft year, and Lundqvist spent 5 years in the SEL after he was drafted. No real timetable for goalies, and, just my opinion without looking up too many stats to back it up, but the ones that impress early and are hurried to the NHL seem to have a bigger chance of becoming head cases when things go wrong compared to ones who are seasoned more. |

I agree I think he can handle the backup role and learn from Nabby. |

You make great points as always UIF I just think it's time for Poulin to be the backup. Let him watch and learn from Nabby and bring him along slowly. |

He got the back up role because they had a top three goalie in the league. If we had Luongo we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. It wouldn't even be debate, if Vancouver trades that guy they will regret it for a long time. |

DP should spend the rest of his career in the press box, or in the blog box cutting coupons with Dee. |

He could bake cup cakes with her and Gervais, share, recipes and have tupperware parties, etc... How about hand out hotdogs to people stupid enough to go to an Islanders game... Oh wait |

I just hope Poulin comes into camp with the attitude that's my job and no kids lose out to guys like Staios this year. I'm all for kids getting time to develop but the kids also need to be ready and have the stones to make the most of their chances. |

All I have to say is Holtby, Neuvirth, etc... Yeah, they aren't Lundvquist and Quick but these "kids" came up and took the reigns. Some people may say Carey and Hextall, ok. Good argument. We just need any sign of positive anything at this point. Call me impatient, don't care. Poulin looks great, so does Nillson. We'll see? We have Nabakov signed, I know a lot on here thinks he can carry the load I don't agree. Between injuries and inconsistent play I'm not convinced, on the same note it was a decent signing because whats the other option? lol. DP is not an option and should not be given a chance to even come to camp, some may scoff at this? Thats fine, I know, I'm an ass. He needs to be taken out to pasture. He is done, what else do you need to see? I was embarrassed for him watching him play last year. I felt bad for him. I actually felt uncomfortable. |

I agree if he will not retire he should not even go to camp. He should be sent straight to the minors. Enough already with this guy. |

Everyone stopped caring a long time ago. Time to hang'em up DP. If you care about the team go away |
