Alot of offers, hard to say what pieces would start the conversation from NYI just to get EDM to listen. It's hard to say what works between NYI and EDM. I would look at Calvin De Haan, Anders Nilsson & 4th overall for 1st? Not sure is that overpayment from NYI. |

I love how so many isles fans are like "moving ______ to only move up 3 spots is ridiculous!!!"
this isn't moving from 10-7, you are moving up to the FIRST overall pick and get a player that is CLEAR CUT ahead of every other player in the draft.
B level prospect+4th does not interest us. - gretzky
Yakupov is undoubtedly the best player in the draft, but I hate to break it to you...he's not Stamkos/Tavares level talent. So trading you Hamonic or Strome does not interest us. |

Please take Forsberg because Galchenyuk needs to be a Leaf. Thanks in advance! - steve362
If Columbus takes Galchenyuk, Forsberg might be the fall back pic for the Habs. If Columbus pick Murray or Forsberg, Habs should pick Galchenyuk.
Funny how must of us want one guy over another one but most of us have never seen any of these kids play except for a few games at the Juniors. Our opinion is mostly based on some scouting reports. |

Unfortunately both of our teams are weak in the defense/goaltending area. It would be tough for us (or you) to start trading away quality goaltending/defense prospects. |

I'd say that's fair but that's only because I've seen Nilsson play, while most of the oiler fans havent |

How do you know this?
He has better numbers than Stammer in his draft year.
Russia hater?
He will VERY likely be on the level of a Hall/Tavares etc. |

I do agree as I think both teams has just really stockpiled their cupboards and beginning to have some bargaining chips, but also being patient and careful with those assets. |

Tambellini will be under a lot of pressure to make good on the 1st overall pick. Taking Yakupov is the "safe" decision. Trading down is much more risky from a PR perspective. So, unless the Oilers receive a huge overpayment, the Oil will take Yakupov.
This dynamic will make it very difficult for any team to trade up to the #1 pick. |

Hamonic is too important to the team an undervalued by the league. This guy was 1 of 2 islanders to be plus this year. I believe he will be as good as sutter from NSH, and he's bigger. His offense just needs an offseason workout.
But being an isles fan, I'd be just as content with gally as yukapov |

First off
JT>hall
But by all means hall is a great player
If I had to rank last 5 first picks it'd be
Stam, JT, Hall, RNH, Kane |

Your right..let me rephrase. Going by what I have seen and read, he won't be on the level of them. Great player? Yes. Guy you build a team around? No. Guy I would start trading the future cornerstone of our defense for? Definitely not.
Not a Russian hater by any means. Also, I'm 100% positive that Stamkos' 105pts in 61 games in his draft year are better than Yakupov's 69pts in 42 games. |

hes a (frank)ing dman you retard!!!! you remind me of a flames fan.... Lets over pay fo a older ufa, the oilers need to build with younger talent. What is wrong with signing this college kid? how sweet was Fedun in training camp before he broke his leg? Unreal and he is only 23 years old. If he's unproven it will be an entry level deal for 3 years.... he can be sent to the ahl.
my point is It doesn't matter where you get drafted. Some of the games best players weren't drafted in the first round. |

As with you guys, we have a very nice pool of talent in the pipeline..but our team isn't talented enough yet to start trading them. I never wanted to trade up in this draft, because I have no desire to pay what we'd have to. |

Exactly, asking NYI to trade Moulson, Taveres, Okposo, Hamonic, Strome is not ideal, it's like asking EDM trade Hall, Eberle, RNH or even Gagner. I also don't think EDM would want prospects in return, at least I wouldn't suggest it. It'd be interesting. |

NYI will trade up if they see something extremely valuable to their club soon and that will make immediate impact. Snow is a pretty conservative GM like Tamby in EDM. If Snow considers Yakupov is that important since Parenteau is hitting UFA, he may be tempted, also considering Nino is still taking time. |
