The only trade I would accept as an Islanders fan is Okposo and 4th overall for the 1st overall.
Sure, Yakupov would be great but I would be completely content with the Isles taking any of the top players available at the four spot. Hopefully its either Murray or Dumba. They might not be a generational talent but they are good players who would fit into our top 4 eventually and help us begin padding our higher-end d-prospects. We have plenty of great forwards in the system, now its time for the NYI to add to the d. |

Could also see the Leafs making a move, to move up to the 2nd pick, to beat the Habs out of grabbing Galynchuk. With Dudley moving to the Habs, apparently, the onus is on the Leafs to grab that number one centre. If Galynchuk is taken number 1, then Yakapov or Murray would be a nice prize to drop into our laps. |

That's fine, they can keep Yakupov as well they should. There is no way the Islanders are giving up Hamonic and if they did the trade would be Hamonic and our first, that trade would be a HUGE over payment! Do you have any idea of just how good a player Hamonic is? Then you go onto say Brock Nelson plus a third rounder which is absurd. I seriously thought you were being sarcastic? You are right, it will be an over payment if it happens(which it won't) but not that ridiculously one sided. - Cptmjl
Let's be realistic here...
Yakupov: fantastic all-round talent. 40-50 goal player, potential super star.
Nelson: 2/3rd line potential
Hamonic: not hugely offensively gifted, but can move the puck. He's got #2 potential, probably a very good 3 is more realistic.
3rd rounder: hit-and-miss, historically it's a miss
4th overall: Yeah, could be a great player too, but Yakupov has 40+ goal potential...4th guy is unlikely to reach that level...

My best guess for draft day
1-Yaku
2-Murray
3-Gally
4-Grigs
5-Forsberg - Symba007

On the bright side, spatso's gonna have a conniption if the guy he loves to hate on drafts the player he's been calling the best of the draft. |

Hamonic made huge strides as an offensive player this year.. He is know very comfortable on the PP , his passing has tremendouslyimproved. Hamonic is a top2 defensemen by next wear
Second, I see yukapov more as 38-45 goal guy. I wouldn't use super-star
There are very few guys id use superstar on. |

I don't know who Yukapov is. If Yakupov can get over 40 goals...well, tell me, how many guys get over 40 goals each year? |

Well, if You were Edmonton...sitting on Yakupov, the obvious best talent in the draft, possibly the past few years, with a HUGE upside, and you had NYI and probably a few other teams knocking on your door...what do you think they would expect?
Obviously, it will need to be a hugely overpaid cost...otherwise it's not worth EDM to make the trade. In these situations, where EDM doesn't need to trade the pick, it's all about NYI (or some other team) making a huge offer...fairness is out the window in these situations. Don't like it? Fine, EDM is more than happy to keep Yakupov and move Hall to his natural C position. - mventres

Either Forsberg or Teuvo Teuvrainen. His new bent is how young players that rise late in the draft are the best prospects (pretty much because Skinner was young when he was drafted).
He also hates Russians.

I will say this: I like the idea of drafting the younger players in the draft, they stand a higher chance of being better than their draft ranking projects, because they have more room to grow. |

True, but the corollary is that he dismisses guys like Yak and Murray as old hat simply because their game has had (and withstood, might I add) almost a full year more of scrutiny. |

Who are the NYI 1-2 D men?
Do they have a big agitating 2nd liner with hands?
Lights-out goalie?
If not, who can they get in a trade?
The price is going to be ridiculous folks, and that's how it should be

Islanders aren't going to take Khabbi or Horcoff... My trade was better. Suck it. Omark is on his way out, and Peckham is just an add on (or subtraction if you want to be more accurate). |

you guys get a very good defender, and land in a position to take another very good defender.
Do you know what your team needs?
(hint: not forwards) |
