Isn't scoring, like, the most important thing? - Shelly
It is. Winning an entire series while benching guys of that caliber only works in movies. |

Correct.
And Suter was the worst Predator on the ice tonight. - wings-suck
I was gonna post that you dog you! I was also gonna mosey up the aisle between 2nd & 3rd periods to b itch about #20 but was too busy trying to figure if I could conjure a Preds win.
I see Spartan is unleashed again. In the bottle too. MO. |

Well, NBC Sports said he was the BEST in game 3.
EDIT: What about Klein's stupid turnover right in front of our net??? - Shelly
You talking about the Boedker chance in the 1st? The one that Rinne made an incredible save on? If so, that was Suter who leisurely passed the puck right in front of an unsuspecting Rinne. He did a Legwand using his stick instead of his hand. |

Tootoo weak tonight - bad passes and giveaways. He'll not be in the next game.
Solid play from Wilson, Yip, Spaling line. Lots of ice time from Colin with 17+ minutes. It seemed he was on the ice a lot during the 3rd. |

Frustrating game to watch for Preds fans with the many misses, frequent disorganized play and an inability to penetrate a stifling game from the Coyotes.
3rd period was much better.
I should have known it was going to be a tough night when I saw #13 on the ice. Dan 'Intent To Blow' O'Halloran or Dan 'Quick Blow' O'Halloran. Take your pick.
Oh well. Game 5 is ours! Go Preds! |

Correct, correct, and correct.
And, many may not be aware of it....but I predict that tonight's game was the last we will see Toots in a preds sweater. |

Yes. Sitting the 2 most talented players on the team just to prove a point while playing offensive juggernauts Tootoo and Halischuck, etc. is a winning strategy. This team has hit its ceiling with Trotz at the helm. I would love to be wrong, but I just don't see this team winning 3 in a row against a hot goalie. A huge disappointment. |

A little overboard. No matter which lineup employed, the simple fact is that Trotz would have been the hero had we won and a dog with a loss. Hind sight is a wonderful thing for analysis. But not fair nor entirely honest. |

No it was Klein - Shelly
Not true. At 4:34 in the 1st when Boediker took the shot, Klein was on the bench. On the ice was 6-20-12-10-74. Watch the replay. Listen to the post-game with Grimson-Calahan-Daunic. Check out the complete play-by-play stats. Listen to Crisp/Weber in-game call. Whatever. It was Suter who deposited the puck to Boediker directly in front of Rinne. |

I'm still scratching my head about the goal that was waved off. That's three in four games. |

I don't like it, but I do understand the rule. Maybe they should have buried a few of those open looks, instead. That no-goal might not have mattered! |

I have always been in favor of a tweak here and there game to game in these 7 games series so as to make game planning for the opposition coach a little more difficult. I advocated dressing AK46 for last night's game because of that...We will never know, but one forward shooting straight could have changed everything...
I agree Wings-Suck, 22 will be moving on. Pity, too, after so much praise about his discipline that he took the game's first penalty.
"Intent to blow" is such a load of crap!! Play to the whistle and when the whistle sounds the play is dead.
Don't forget who owns the Coyotes... |

We didn't lose that game because 46 & 47 weren't in the lineup. The guys that were in could/should have won that game. Between the missed sure goals and the waived off goal, the problem wasn't the lineup. But I'm sure one or both will be back in on Monday. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and they feel they have something to make up for.

Let's not go there. These games aren't fixed. Fact is the Preds' shooting accuracy was horrid. Smith left the net wide open on at least four occasions and the Preds flat out missed the shots.
My biggest disappointment last night was watching a team and its captain play with no sense of urgency. This is one game where I can't really credit the other team. Phoenix was no better. They just got the lucky bounce.
Oh well. On to the next game. Thee guys have been comeback kids all season. Maybe they have another miracle in them

That was the only line that had any sense of urgency. Wilson was the player Erat was on Wednesday--without the skill.
This team has the talent to beat the yotes in 3. Now lets see if they have the sense of urgency....seing as it doesn't get any more urgent than being down 3-1.
I know that everyone is down on Trotz and his pre-game line-up decision...but I kinda feel bad for him. There are a lot of players (toots included) that he put his faith in that let him down last night with their lack of urgency. Lets face it: they made him look bad by not being the same players they were on Wednesday. I put that on the players, not on Trotz. And I'm not talking about the whole team, either....just a few, and y'all know who I'm talking about already.

Klein had a couple of giveaways, one near the end of the 2nd and another shortly after start of the 3rd but Boedker was not on the ice for either of those. One of those two giveaways is probably what you are thinking about.
The one I referred to originally was the lazy and inexplicable Suter pass early in the 1st straight to Boedker streaking in directly in front of a surprised Rinne for a golden Coyote scoring opportunity that Rinne turned into a great save.
Nice gift-wrapped pass by Suter but to the wrong team. It was a sloppy and unnecessary play by #20 - he wasn't under much pressure to speak of. Just a terrible pass from one of the team's leaders that unfortunately helped set a bad tone for much of the what we saw in the 1st and 2nd last night. |

Well said.
Nothing like adversity to build character. On the verge of elimination counts as adversity in my book so I'll repeat what I said earlier. Get fired up Preds and win Game 5! Dominate the damn game for a change. And I am talking about overall play and the final score!
Go Preds! |
