If you had to make a choice right now. Who would you select between Price and Reimer going into the future?
- Cape Breton Bruins

Price. He's proven he can be a decent goalie. Hasn't proven he's anything more than decent. I would hope for better than both, ideally.

Halak most definitely carried them throught those playoffs. He was amazing. No halak, no second round that year.

I was responding to the poster that said the habs terrible d hurt Price. Fact is, they play a tight defensive system. If you put 5 NHL players on the ice, and tell them to do nothing but play D, it can't hurt your goalie that much. No, they're not that good, so I wouldn't say he had it easy, but I don't think its an excuse either.

You say Halak carried them and i remember you posting stats to try and show the defense was not that great and it was all Halak. Did the defensive system all of a sudden get better to go from being bad when Halak was there to decent when Price is the starter?

The defense wasn't great. Still isn't great. The difference is Halak was good enough to carry the team. Price wasn't good enough to carry them anywhere.

I'm also of the belief that sv% isn't affected a great deal by the team in front of a goalie. GAA is.

If the defense was bad then, it would have to be horrid this year. So yea the other poster was right when he said the defense for Price is not good at all and wouldn't that mean something for Price's stats? Save percentage is the best indication of individual play but when the defense is bad and the quality of shots against is better then that would lead to a lower save percentage. Did you watch Price this year

Yep, I've seen him play. And heard the quality of shots against thing many times. I hate the "have you seen him play" argument, however, because it's 100% subjective.

I guess we'll just have wait till next year!!! Again.

Think thats pretty obvious. If they get injured during an NHL game at least it was doing a job they were paid for. You can't see why an owner would be irked that a star player on their team, perhaps important to getting their team into the playoffs and producing revenue would be injured mid-season playing in a tourny that has no bearing to their contract?
- Cape Breton Bruins

But an injury is an injury nonetheless.... the cost is still the same to any owner.

I for one would be able to stomach it a bit more if it were to occur while playing for my team. If it happened mid-season playing some place else would just irk me personally.

I agree that i hate the you have to see him play argument but in this case with what was in front of him stats don't show everything. He was solid and at times had very little help. I am not saying he is the best but you under rate him because he is a hab

He's not top 10. He's middle of the pack in terms of starting goalies right now. That's all there is to be said.

What's there to hold me to? I've never said he can't improve. That's what he is, right now. If you want to speculate that he might one day become that, go right ahead. I don't personally believe he will ever be top 5 consistently, but that's my opinion, and I'm not stating that as fact.

Probably somewhere around there. Close anyway.

I can only think of 7 goalies or so I would say are definitely better than Price but there's a about 6 or 7 I would consider "on par" or very close with Price.

Top 15 is a fair statement and he maybe flirts with top 10 too.

Given his age and the tendency of goalies to develop later it's fair to say regardless of what Prock says Price has a hell of a career ahead of him.
