He's got 2 more years at a cap hit of 6.5, unless there's a major rule change I wouldn't be shocked if he's never in the NHL again.

and he walks away with 13 mill in the prime of his life whistling a merry tune. win/win

yeah that's what I don't like... essentially a CBA clause has completely ended a guy's NHL career... (frank)ing Radulov can play but Redden can't...

Also, gave more interviews in one day than Gainey/Gauthier in their entire tenure.

I have to say, so far, I like what I hear. Not the best orator, but I don't give a crap. As long as he gets the job done.

Of course, we can't really judge until he makes a few moves. Still, it's refreshing, and quite something else than what we had for the last 8-9 years.

Did you hear Mario Langlois on the huge list of contacts he has throughout the league? Stéphane Waite said so too on RDS. Pretty sure that surpasses Mcguire's

Not sure they could add much to what was already said in every single news outlet in the province.

you could have stopped there and still been right.

Is he beating up the bullies?? Because that would make total sense.

Have you seen him lately?
I don't think he could beat up an 11 year old bully...

Mcguire knows everyone. Problem is, no one wants to talk to him except Westisland990.

TSN 990 has been for McGuire’s candidacy what Fox News is for Mitt Romney.

But, he can retire filthy rich. I wonder which he would rather have, a spot in the NHL or the money.

I bet at this point he would trade some of the money.

It would be nice for a man to have some say in that for himself. isn't that what prompted the big fight for free agency in the first place?

either way I guess he knew what he was getting into and it's not exactly like he's stuck in prison but still it seems contrary to every single thing the PA has always looked for.

Still can't wrap my head around the fact Chris Nilan is visiting schools across the province to talk about bullying...
- Pecafan Fan

That's how big hockey is in here. Even the worst spokeperson, affected by drugs and alcohol, that played for the habs, is seen as a great source of inspiration.

It was really over the top.

On the other hand his candidacy was a fascinating situation to see play out.

I think the PA takes greater concern in the UFA contract he signed than where he ended up playing during it.
