Police Chief Frank McCoy said Seau's girlfriend reported finding him unconscious with a gunshot wound to the chest and lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.

So, his girlfriend finds him unconscious, with a gunshot to his chest?

hmmmm....

I think the correct word would have been "bullet".

The shot to the chest is a red flag right away isn't it? Where's borderpatrolsuperstar when you need him?

He never said anything like that. It's just the media (and you) putting these words in his mouth. I am glad however that they're finally getting more scouts in the Q.
- PRICEless

He said that on 'Le 5 à 7'

Timmins travels around NA to scout player AND he does players development. All Bergevin said was that the Habs will have more scouts in Quebec.

I fully expect them to hire Stephane Leroux as a new scout for the Q.

Giroux said that he was sure the Habs would pick him...maybe Timmins was ordered by a higher power to draft a defenseman...
- stinger67

No, it was one of his most influent scout, who would jizz all over the place for Fischer, he even wrote a book about him.

Timmins wanted Giroux. He's based in Ottawa and saw Gatineau play a lot that year. He trusted his scout. And it burned him.

Giroux is from Ontario.

So, he was playing in the Q and flew under the habs scouting radar, but was wanted by Timmons, and someone talked Timmons out of it.
k, got it.

No, didn't fly under the radar. Timmons knew he was the right pick. Somebody like Molson probably gave the mandate to not take him.

They had Timmins scouting the 'Q back then, with another part-time scout scouting every now and then. The rest of the scouts wouldn't come here.

They hired Serge Boisvert two years ago. And they will hire more

Molson wasn't the owner back then, but nice try Ken.

I heard Bergevin say that he doesn't intend on trading the 3rd overall, unless something really interesting comes up...but surely not for a player that would play 2 or 3 years here and leave.

A.K.A. No roof fixing.

Well he did, there's not enough habs scouts in the Q? How would Timmons even know about him?

Either way, it wasn't Timmin's fault. He's great. Poor guy. Could you imagine the team the Habs would have if they actually allowed him to do his job?

Bergevin on RDS right now

That guy gave more interviews in one day than Gauthier for the whole 2 years he was GM

Gatineau is 5 minutes away from Ottawa. Giroux was playing there. Timmins lives in Ottawa.

Giroux was also seen as a 1st round pick back then. A late one, but he wasn't a reach where he was taken.

He did a good job, but they traded away a lot of assets he acquired for this team.
