jagr completely invisible tonight. so much for the hope of him playing like that hulk pic posted earlier today.
- hammarby31

yeah, he suddenly looks every bit his age.

on the other hand a whole bunch of guys were invisible tonight. Outside of Bryz, I would say MAYBE Wellwood and Coburn had marginally decent games.

flyers overpass on the late pp and the long clear takes some crazy bounces and rolls in. everything went their way in the 3rd. give them a lot of credit. skated hard, defended really well and made their own breaks. i don't think the flyers played nearly as bad as most have said in here tonight. that said, they need to simplify and get more pucks to the net. brodeur literally had nothing to do in the final 40 minutes.

on to game 3.

they probably passed up at least 10 shots on goal tonight, trying to get the pretty goal.

i thought talbot and simmonds were pretty decent.

a reversal from game 1. i thought there were very good early, and had a few chances to be up 2 or 3. devils took the game away and cashed in on their chances late in the game.

personally, i don't mind this being 1-1. it's going to keep them engaged.

even AFTER they gave up the empty netter and they were still on the pp, they STILL were looking for the pretty play.

Yeah, and after one game Laviolette (sp) anointed him the best in the world.
- whipper334

Lavi has been saying that since December, but ok. He's entitled to his opinion.

Yes! But for Lavvy to say best in the world.... C'mon, even Giroux was like .... What?
- whipper334

Realistically...put yourself in that situation....

If I call you the best player in the world, what are you gonna say?

Are you act egocentric like T.O. and say "YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT I AM!!" or are you gonna take the classy, professional high road and downplay it?

Guess what? He's clearly the best in the world that is playing hockey right now. Is he better than 87? 71? Maybe, maybe not. But I think we can put him in the elite of the elite in the world.

/discussion and/or trolling.

Let's move on to a game 3 drubbing in NJ, shall we?

Other than Bryz and Wellwood, they were all mostly invisible last night.

I sit next to a guy who HATES Carle. He watches him like a hawk. The whole game is about how horrible Carle is.

I was watching game 1 on TiVo Sunday night and saw a play where there was a breakaway, the other Flyer who was closer to the breaking player was getting close, so Carle peeled off to cover the other side of the net in case of rebound, putting himself in perfect position to prevent the opposing trailer from potting it. I was so impressed. But that's not something you ever hear about, because it's the easy thing to pick a guy and pick apart his every move.
