If they lost 3-2 in a competitive game you live with it, the lack of effort, and compete level, after the 10-3 game that happened a week ago is alarming to me. Did they let down because Kovalchuk wasn't playing? Are the buying into the hype? Have they tuned the coach out?

I'm really awaiting answers from the post-game to find out why not one player on the ice competed tonight, other than the goaltender.

- PLindbergh31

All over the top and outlandish. No they haven't tuned out the Coach, or buying into the hype. They just didn't play well. It is one game. I guess were at the point in the 2nd round where ankles are going to start breaking from jumping off the band wagon. Just like in the first round. I got news for everybody. This Devils team is no slouch. They are better then many think they are. The Flyers will play better. And they will win the Series.

effort what effort there was none no pressure no fore check and they hung bryz out to dry bryz isn't to blame for this loss.. our best players took the night off and they need to wake up or we will be down 2-1 soon enough.... pi$$ poor effort tonight by every player tonight accept Bryz....

I can't remember more than a couple scoring chances after the Read goal.

Bill made a good point on Twitter that the 2nd period probably really wore out the D, since the team wasn't in the offensive zone at all in the period. I don't think many teams could withstand lack of working like that
- eayost

My question is why the Flyers came out in the second period like they were high.

I have faith this team won;t let that happen. they didn't have the jump in their feet tonight, but this team hasn't been it's best on home ice all year. I told everyone before the playoffs home ice is not an advantage for this team and it has shown to not be.

I guess Bryz wasn't invited.

Blow them UP! Dissolve the team right now. This series is over, Lavy has lost the team. He needs to go.

It looked like they forgot how to play defensively and hold a lead. They really just held back too much, and could never get anything going again. They just stood around playing zone defense or something. That just doesn't work, need to stay aggressive.

They really did go to sleep after that goal. If I'm lavvy I might make them all stay after hours tonight to watch that game. As a professional I don't know how you watch that and not be embarassed with one's self. That being said I'm feeling like i did after game 4 of the last series: piss poor effort, ass handed to back to them. Comeback and play NHL hockey now.

Blow up the team. They are toast.

- MBFlyerfan

Rangers have played 91 games so far this season, how many times do you think they had an effort like tonight, or the 10-3 game?

I don't expect this team to win every playoff game, far from it. I do expect them to compete and play with passion and effort. When they don't they deserve to be ripped to shreds.

It was really a self explanatory statement. Do you disagree that the Flyers were outworked and outplayed?
- MJL

My point was that after you said the flyers were outworked, I asked where the flyers half of work and compete was?
The 2nd and 3rd periods were bad. Bad like they thought that the devils would fold up shop and mail the rest of the game in.
Usually there is one guy other than the goalie who competes. Tonight it was a team effort, Bryz played outstanding everyone else not so much.

The one thing that really DOES get in my craw is that this team wasted what was probably Bryz's best game of the playoffs.

The Devils are awesome. Going to double overtime in game 7 to beat the Panthers was ulta impressive.

I agree ... I didn't see a whole lot of hard work tonight.

And NO ONE other than Bryz played well. Maybe Coburn. But that's a big maybe.

Those who like to panic will panic. And it is a great opportunity for some to be negative. To even ask if the team has tuned out the Coach? Absolutely ridiculous. It's one game.

i'm watching the dvr and they're still flying after the goal. totally perplexed by the slashing call on jvr with a loose puck on marty. based on the few posts i've seen on this last page, they stopped playing pretty quickly i guess.

I think they and him bot get too comfortable when the other is playing good. Last game Bryz played good to start the game, then got nonchalant b/c the team was looking good in the 2nd. This game Bryz is playing good and they poop the bed.

The Boston Bruins had to win 3 game 7's last year to win the Cup. It's the playoffs. Every team is a good team. Your first mistake is thinking that Florida isn't a good team.

No, you were right when you asked if they have tuned out the coach. That is the obvious conclusion that we all should have come to after losing game 2 in a 1 to 1 second round series.

I'm amazed no one else thought to ask that or pose that idea. In fact, we should pose that question to Meltz tomorrow in his blog.

Ill ask now, Hey Bill, do you think the team has tuned out the coach? PLind wants to know.

They only reason to keep watching is to see Bryz's best game of the playoffs... until it pisses you off that the Flyers wasted it
