Keep the Cooter line out against the Parise line and I'll LOVE the rest of the matchups we'll have. IMO, theyre making a mistake by not moving Henrique into the top 6.

That match-ups might benefit the Flyers, but Bernier is a very good player when give his chance. I just wonder what we are going to do on the PP?

Maybe just put Zidlicky or Zajac in Kovalchuk's spot?

Why was Walkom reffing ever?
- bodiva88

And then named the league's director of officiating at a very young age. I have heard OTR and second-hand why some think he rose to that degree of prominence despite being a strictly average referee: he kissed the right butts and positioned himself as a protege of the decision makers.

But that sentiment originated from some folks who don't like Walkom and clashed with him when he was working in the league office. So it has to be taken with a grain of salt. There's probably some jealousy involved, too.

The truth is probably that the league liked that he was young, ambitious and eager to please league's desired direction of removing discretion and dictating lots of penalties be called. He is definitely astute with the politics that go on. On the flip side, he didn't really make any enemies before he was director -- was just another ref as far as I know. But maybe he let his head get too big once he was in power.

Who knows?

He kills games.. I dont understand how he is getting playoff games. Id rather have mick mcgeough back.
- jak521

It's mindboggling. There has to be so much evidence of how bad Lee is, it makes no sense that he is reffing the playoffs.

Sorry, but no. I am on the bandwagon of anybody who eliminates the Rangers.
- hscesq

that is good, pretty close to the Flyers bandwagon.

So Bill, if I understand what you are saying, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but you have no idea why Walkom is reffing, correct?

I'm actually enjoying the playoffs a lot. In a way, it's quite liberating to NOT have the pit in the stomach every two days.

But this year for flyers fans has been exhilarating so far.

He's reefing because he's still plugged in to the league office despite no longer being director of officiating. I have no idea why he was named director in the first place, apart from things enemies of his have said.

Pierre McGuire might become the GM of your franchise and you don't have a pit in your stomach?

Strangely, no. Who knows more about every single player playing hockey in the entire world, than Pierre? As long as they surround him with knowledgeable people as far as the cap goes, etc., I would have no problem with it.

Got a hole in the bottom of my car today. Let's hope the hole in the Devil's heart is ripped a little bit bigger tonight.

I laughed when I read this, but then I thought the same thing. He also speaks french right? (I am asking that as an actual question cause even though we know how dumb that requirement is, politics is still politics.)
- flyers4487

He does. But living in NY, I don't really care. It WOULD keep the peace though.

i was making a joke. i didn't think a hernia needed qualification, but maybe there are other kinds?
- hammarby31

There are a bunch of hernias. A sports hernia is a tear in the abdominal wall. Tends to lead to groin injuries.
