I think he will be effective offensively up the middle. He has great vision and a good shot plus he's very strong defensively which would also be helped if he stayed at center. - NickTheKid87
It's about right now, moving Schenn to the Wing. Not neccesarily a permanent move.

I think he figured the results of the trades he made couldn't be worse than what he feared would happen if he didn;t. Last year was a big let down in the second half. THose two are very good players, but I don;t think you can count on them to shoulder a franchise for a long time. If holmgren thought so, he wouldn;t have made the trades. That was a rebuild on the fly last year. Yes Giroux and JVR's play in the post season last year are big reasons for it. It gave holmgren the confidence to do it. But why do it in the first place if they weren't a nuisance in the locker room? This isn't an argument that can be proven with facts either for or against. The only way to prove this is to get it from the Horse's mouth and that will probably never happen. If it makes you feel any better, my favorite Flyer of all time Tocchet got ran out of town and he admitted to asking for a trade. Considering what happened with the quasi Waco incident in Sea Isle I don't think that was the case either.

Even before these playoffs, Holmgren outright stated he didn't know if we'd be better or worse, only that we'd be different. That it paid off (in spades, I may add) is a testament to a few things: to his nose for good risks to take, to Giroux's sky high potential and motivation to fulfill it, and to this team at large for its resilience.

It's not just in terms of the media. It's about bias. And applying different standards and not being objective depending on who the player is. - MJL
I always try to be objective. I'm a human being and just posting on a discussion board so sometimes I can be bias here with my discussions at times I suppose. But I based my misguided view on Briere on personal evaluation. It was never about did I like him or not. I like all the players, I think you can like someone and criticize them at the same time.
U sure as hell don't see me in here when the team is down making a mockery of players and trying to make myself feel more secure by dissing them. Everytime I made the projection that Briere was done, I hedged that with hoping I was wrong. Well I was there you go. If that's not being objective I don't know what is.
