Looked like he tried to kick him twice. Couldn't see the second one other than the movement of girardi's leg and his reaction. could be wrong though. tough to see on NBC feed

never seen the winners of a playoff game 6 so fixated on the skates on their opponent... in various instances

I'll just say this about the no Michalek suspension...big whoop! Its done, we move on, too much nonsensical drama this series, lets play our balls off & we should win this, ALL IN!

Finally had time at work to get it. 13 second mark, watch Girardi's left thigh get kicked by Michalek who is kicking out as he lays on the ground with his left foot. (plus article)

http://sports.yahoo.com/b...discipline-161048903.html

EDIT: Not saying it should be a suspension but this is the best shot we got.

- mrhattrick27

See, if that is it, what I see is Michalek planted down, the goal supposedly is in and Michalek is trying to get up. Girardi rams him back down and Michalek is trying to shift to get up and stop getting pushed back down and he's trying to wiggle his way out. I don't know man, just seems like a nothing type of thing... The kick I mentioned was a kick. Watching the video though, man, what the hell was the league thinking letting that goal stand?

I tend to agree, in the old days....ah forget about it, just wish everyone would stop whining.

the michalek kick....i was just watching the replay of the game, and i see why danny g is pissed, but his skate doesnt make contact with him..if the blade makes contact with the guy then its an auto suspension.

anybody really expect michalek to get suspended for a game 7?

didnt think so....unless it was malicious

Well i tend to agree and i don't think a suspension is warranted. that being said, kicking a player is very dangerous. No place for that in hockey. think we have seen enough players getting serious lacerations from skates to know that

No doubt, Michalek hasn't been a factor anyway, Stone was more impressive in 1 game played, Game 7 has to be ours either way.

My only thing is watching Shanahan's video for Skinner's suspension makes it seem like it's a no brainer and violation of the rule

Yea I watched it closer today and Neil CLEARLY kicks it. If the mic was on we may have gotten to hear the Ref's explanation but we didn't.. No way Hank's glove even touches that puck..

Now I'm pissed, clear cut video and the NHL (Nonstop Hypocrisy League) can't tell me this doesn't follow what Skinner and Ryan were suspended for

I've watched this video seemingly 100 times and I cannot see where this kick is. Every other thing that occurred, the skewer, the kick by Neil I see but Michalek skates in and is tackled by Girardi and then Girardi gets up... I dont see where Michalek kicked anyone. If I hadn't heard about the kick, I wouldn't have even looked but I honestly still can't see it.

Is there a video that someone can post and say at the 0:16 mark, you clearly see the kick?

- Lohaus

Let me say this, I can see Michalek making what appears to be a kicking motion but I can't see contact or anything like that in the video I've seen.

What's your honest take on Neil's reaction to the hit by MDZ? Obviously I think he needs to keep his mouth shut given that hit was pretty much identical to the one he laid out Boyle with. I get being pissed within the moment but then after the game, when he should have had time to think about it, to imply he will be looking for payback in game 7 is over the line in my book.

Bruce Garrioch‏@SunGarrioch: Milan Michalek won't have a hearing but did receive a warning from Brendan Shanahan. #Sens

don't care one way or the other about michalek not getting suspended. The best part is the waring from shanahan.

I already said my take on Neil's reaction on age 32. He acted like a kid. I really have limited tolerance for that type of reaction anyways. Similar to Richards swinging his stick baseball bat style after he got hit. I don't really care who hit you, don't have tantrums and don't react in a potentially dangerous manner. No real excuse for it, in my opinion.

I'm obviously older now, but even in the sports I play today there are these guys who have little tantrums and whatnot. I just have no time for it from grown men so looking at grown men being paid money I can't even dream of to play a game, take a hit and act in such a fashion simply boggles my mind.

The dumbest part is if Neil's skate didn't hit the puck, how on earth did the puck actually start moving towards the net? Magic? I think anyone can accept that Neil is at least, if nothing else, swiping his skate to attempt to move the puck so he is doing the kicking motion so the only explanation is the league doesn't believe he made contact with the puck... so clearly it had to be magic.

neil obviously kicked it in

the games officiating was horrific both ways start to finish

michalic (sp?) may or may not have got him with the skate......but doesnt really matter....

GAME 7 is at MSG and it will be awesome.

anything that has happened in the series at this point is irrelevant now.

who ever wants it more will win.......unless those 2 fools ref the game again

It may just be me, but I am praying Peirre McGuire is between the benches for this game 7, and not Brian Hayward

Francesa on YES just showed a close up on Hank's glove, he has his glove over the puck and Neil's skate, the glove is not moving and the puck comes shooting out, common sense is really lacking in Toronto, I didn't realize they had this overhead zoom

Vancouver is out... TOR, MTL, EDM, WPG and CGY are all out.

They want a Canadian team in the 2nd round. Am I saying conspiracy? Possibly.

Yeah, lord knows the NHL has a long history of punishing major US markets in favor of Canadian ones less than 1/10th the size.

Yes, because obviously the Ottawa senators would be the leagues prime choice of Canadian teams to prevail in the playoffs . Would be much more benfitial for them to continue vs a New York market team.

This conspiracy talk is getting way too much play. The refs were equally terrible for both teams this past game, and that's no change from the rest of the series or season for that matter. Hanks post game comments definitely helped spur the outcries, but the comments were based on pure emotion after an awful ruling that about 95% of both fan bases agree on.
I am glad that Hank did make the comments though, as it is good to see one of the players showing such emotion after a critical game, and expressing how bad the officiating has been, especially for a playoff game.

The only play it's getting is from the people who won't acknowledge the clear cut suspendable kick by Michalek, he isn't making difference but I'm tired of the double standard when it comes to the Rangers, just watch the video explanation for the 2 games given to Skinner, if it wasn't acceptable a month ago why is it now?
