Pretty classy exit actually, I thought. Tough overtime loss, but they gave their team a nice ovation as they left the ice. - UIF
They did that last year.. then burned the city down. |

How Bad is Roman Hamerlik? That was second OT goal he was 99% responsible for the outcome. - niteislander
He didn't do anything on that goal. It was Backstrom that turned the puck over north of the blueline and Wideman that got caught sleeping on Seguin 5 miles out of position. It was terrible though. |

What exactly was he doing on the boards of the opposite side? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unjrTRT5C8o He stinks. His tip of Chara's shot perfectly into the top corner was how Washington lost game 3.

I didn't realize you were talking about the other game too. But I'm confused...he was right on top of Lucic at the blueline (in the last game) as soon Lucic picked off Backstrom's crappy pass and dealt it to Seguin. Don't get me wrong Hamrlik sucks but I just don't think that goal was his fault. |

The only thing you can really say about Hamrlik on that play was that he didn't seem too interested in getting back towards the goal in case of a rebound. Not much else he could've done to prevent the goal so that's just nitpicking. |

Maybe I just hate the guy.. but I was confused why he would not just stay on his side and not commit like he did... to me he was waaaay out of position. I am clearly biased though.. no doubt.
Erskine sux too.. guy is slow as heck still. |

Ovi is over rated, the season he doesn't score as much anymore is people play him straight up now instead of being afraid to |

Effort was never Hammer's strong suit and he does not have the speed which makes it worse. |

More good F-ing news for the Isles franchise. Thier AHL team gets swept out of the AHL playoffs by the Rangers' farm team. Was it even a competitive series? I doesn't sound like it was. |

No doubt he had an off year by OV standards. But with 38 Goals, 27 assists, 65 Points & 215 hits in 78 games. I'll trade every forward on our team not named John for him. Plus every "D" man not named Travis. We'll start from Scratch. Again. |

I'm not saying he's bad, he'd play for any teams top line in the league. But I've read numerous top 50 forwards in the league for 12 season and ovi was top 7 in like all of them. JT was ahead of him once |

Freakin embarrassing. Swept by rangers affiliate whale. What happened? Sound tigers were best team in ahl post jan 1st. I had them winning it all. So I get whale goalie stood on his head. But 2 shutouts? Just sad. Maybe capuano gave the sound tigers coaching advise? Winning the Calder trophy could have been great experience for cizikas, ullstrom, poulin, Nelson and rest of team. It would have also made me feel better about our prospects for next season.
Now I'm just more depressed. |

Solely based on this years performance?
I think JT out performed him this year |

No one bases those things on ONLY this seasons performance... if you are going to do that you just look at the stat standings.. no point in asking.
There isnt a GM that would pick JT over Ovie if they could... I love JT & there are only like 3 players i would ever dream of trading him for... Ovie is one of them.

I know.
Around mid season. When OV was really struggling and playing like a 4th liner. I posted that he was stealing his paycheck. His game was really off. Although he never really put it all together this season. He did pick up his game and ended with respectable Numbers. In fact his shooting percentage (shots per goal) was one of the highest of his career. The Caps struggled for a good part of the season. I have to believe that there were internal factors which led to OV's poor season.
So I have to agree with xXx on this one. Its tough to find many players in the NHL that I would rather have. Malkin yes. Crosby? Maybe. His concussions frighten me. If healthy then a big yes. Maybe Stamkos but OV when on his game is a better player then Stamkos IMO.
JT may have had a better season then OV. And as much as I like JT. I dont believe he's in OV's class. At least not yet. |
