I had to watch the entire game last night when I got home, although I did know the score the second I landed, and yelled loudly while still on the plane when I saw..

So much to say...

Giroux- Could care less what he did with the fans, he's an opposing player and he doesn't have to like or be nice to our fans, just like Crosby doesn't have to and shouldn't like the Flyers. But that "Crosby-esque" outburst at the end was priceless. Frustrated Roo? Just wait and see how you feel if this goes 7, can you say meltdown? I don't care what anyone says, if Crosby had of done either of those things Giroux did he would be getting roasted by Flyer fans, coaches and media alike right now, hypocrites, period. Not directed at the good Flyer fans here, you know who you are.

Fleury- Better than the ridiculous saves, the dealing with getting run, no even strength goals against in 2 games, better than all that was the smile on his face in his post game. Fleury's back, and that should worry the Flyers.

No points from Malkin or Crosby you say? So how did we win...

Staal!!! I better not hear anyone talk about trading him anymore. If you can't see what he can do you're blind. He has taken over this series and he would have been one of the last candidates to do so, love it.

Welcome back TK. Great game.

Malkin is walking a fine line when it comes to playing hockey the right way. He looks like Messier out there, taking shots on guys when they're not looking and mostly high. He's inches away from hurting someone badly. However I'm torn, his game shows that he's clearly frustrated Couturier is blanking him, at the same time it's nice to see he's still engaged. He's trying to help the team physically but that's not his game and he's looking dirty. If we get through this series I see Malkin stepping back up to what we saw all year and if he's scoring he won't be running at people, that's what I want to see.

Despres and Strait are life savers on the backend. I don't care if someone has to hire Tonya Hardings boyfriend to get out of that contract, there is no room for him on this team next year.

Crosby has taken alot of hits and alot of hits to the head, the worst coming from Malkin , but the good news is he can take them. I take that back, this is GREAT news.

Game 6 is going to be the hardest one yet. The Flyers will play their best game of the series. However, if we win we are taking game 7.

If we can get some offense from Kunitz, Crosby and Malkin the sky is the limit with the way Staal's line is playing.

Dear Philly, please run another super duper funny newspaper cover tomorrow.

If I hear another Flyer fan complain about the Pens diving I'm going to snap. What I saw last night was a disgrace by the team wearing Orange & Black. Both teams have players that do it, stop being all high and mighty.

Dear refs, you can call goalie interference in the playoffs, Philly's plan was evident last night and they didn't get called once.

The Flyers exhausted their top 3 dmen last night, uh oh.

Fleury stole us this game and that's exactly what we needed.

Game 6 at 10 am? Frank you NBC.

Beleieve, Pens in 7.

The Geno dance has nothing to do with Malkin as an individual, it has to do with the team winning. Get your mind of the fake boobs you missed out on and try and keep up.

if we put the body on all of them, then they wont score... my dad always told me growing up "they cant score if they are on their a$$" to this day i tell the kids i coach the same thing... if you have the chance to hit or steal the puck, take the hit bc 8 out of 10 times you wont actually get the puck...

2 things i noticed at the game last night other then labatt blue runs through me very quickly and there arent enough mens bathrooms at a hockey arena....

1) if the pens would step up more at the blueline the flyers wouldnt have that many great chances.. it seems like the D lets them skate in and then the do their little passing around before we step up

2) during the pens pk, they are tyring to pressure the flyers and a player always seems to be open on the flowers glove side, i think if they lay off them and play alittle more man to man instead of zone, they would limit the flyers pp goals...

- nh4442

Great call nh, the Flyers gameplan on the PP is eating us alive. They have alot of talent out there and we don't seem to have an answer. The pressure style is not working at all. Actually I do have an answer, stay out of the franking box! Malkin needs to stop taking these stupid penalties. If the Pens don't give the Flyers PP a chance to beat them, the Flyers won't beat them.

I would pass on fake boobs everyday of the week to watch what happened last night.
Fair enough on team vs Malkin, but he was still a douche last night.

He needs to stop being so seflish. That's the kind of thing the coach and the captain should be pulling him aside and hammering into his head.

I think that's the first one Shanahan has got right, and yes it is maybe over the top. On the surface it looks like a knee jerk reaction to all the negativity being thrown Shanny's way but Torres provides the opportunity to make an example of someone and that's what Shanny did. Torres deserves no sympathy with his history.

edit- meant to quote you opeth. ^^

Fair enough post we will just have to disagree..

You think the Pens are not playing him hard enough but the thing about great players is they make it look like things are not earned. LIke i said...I respect your opinion I just disagree with it..

- opeth_pa

i would not say the points are unearned at all. giroux is a dynamic player and he is showing it here with an incredible series. everyones stats from this series do look a little inflated, but that is just the flow of the series, and he is not disappointing. he has made some very hard plays look easy, and at the same time, has taken advantage of some very easy plays that were handed to him. however, the ability to do both is what sets apart the great ones from the rest. that being said, like most players of his type, if he was being hit a lot, he would not be nearly as effective. (although players of that caliber are often harder to hit than people realize)

Torres suspended 25 games. The rest of the Yotes playoff run. I think that is a little too many but Shanahan is trying to prove something, maybe this can completely change the players on headshots.

Right on. Bylsma, Sid and Orpik really need to read him the riot act. I think Kennedy took a selfish penalty last night too.

I'll never take shanny or the league seriously until they put a big number on a "star" player, and not the easy targets like Cooke or Torres.

There's no doubt about it they are the biggest hypocrites around. Fortunately there are ones who a very objective though. They would be complaining as they usually do without realizing their team does the exact same thing they criticize the Penguins for. They say that Giroux is just passionate and hates to lose but if Crosby would do that he would be ridiculed for being a sore loser and immature. Plus it's laughable that they act like their team doesn't dive. Every team does it. Quit pretending your team is above that sort of thing because they clearly aren't. Both teams have taken silly dives this series.

Please for the love of God stay out of the freakin' box!!!! I really can't understand why players take the most careless and stupid penalties when they know they can't do that. The Pens are doing the job even strength but they have been abysmal on the PK. Malkin needs to be smarter and not hurt the team with dumb penalties. He must keep his emotions in check. That goes for everyone.

I can't remember one penalty that the Pens took last nights that was a "good" penalty. All of them were selfish and unnecessary extra shots. You can do that if your PK is great, but not how things are going now.
