He's posting a 1.77 GAA and a .942 SV% before this game (even lower now). How could anybody not be impressed with that? - 77rams
It's not quite a 4.96 GAA, and .844 SV%, but it's not terrible. |

oh and if it was filmed today grossman seems to be out and about and doing pretty well - thenighttrain17
I'd bet it was before the series. They said 'on their day off' and they practiced today |

No the team is buying into Hunter's system and it's kind of scary. Holtby has done what is asked off him but he's had some juicy rebounds in the crease but the caps clean it up. - JoeRussomanno
Joe if this is the case I would spend every dollar on defense and put an idiot in goal. To not give Holtby his due and say hes doing what is expected of him is crazy. The guy is playing outstanding every single game. |

I'm giving holtby his due but put him on the Flyers and this thing is Pittsburgh advancing after four games. Hes getting the help he needs. I don't understand why you guys don't see that or are you really not watching the game. Stuff has trickled past him, big rebounds are left out in front, but his team is taking care of it.
Not like the Flyers standing around and waiting like they have through the past two games. |

Clock not starting tonight, 2 pucks on the ice in the Rags/Sens during Game 1, 45 goals in 4 games in our series, 7+ suspensions...
What a first round. - nhindian
Haven't they broken the record for a PO series already? |

That's pretty much been Detroit's philosophy for years. |

It's still going to be a battle for Pitt to close this out. The Flyers should be able to win one freaking game with what they have healthy. If Bryz can't play then Bob has to do it, Leighton isn't going to cut it. - JoeRussomanno
Close it out tomorrow rest up get ready for next round. Can't let the pens get on a roll. If the boys blow this series imagine the stuff that the pens fans will be saying. |

Theres no goalie in the league that wont give up rebounds. Defense is a big part but to just act like thats the only reason hes any good is not fair. The guy has been outstanding between the pipes.
Im not even comparing him to Bryz or what he would do as a Flyer in this series so thats irrelevant. |

I sort of agree. You could take a lot of these goalies who appear to be having great post-seasons ... but if their D was playing the way the Flyers D is right now, I'd sure as hell bet they have some freakin' bad save percentages as well.
Likewise, if the Flyers D was playing the way it did a few weeks back when Bryz had great stats, he also would be putting up some good numbers here in this series.

Detroit has had some very good veteran goalies that have helped them win a cup.

I know there's no goalie that won't give up rebounds, it's part of the game. It's not the only reason he's doing so well but it's a big reason. |

Hilarious. I love how the puck in play lands perfectly where the other was sitting.
If I were Winchester I would've shot the other one in the net and lets the refs figure it out. |

I do agree with you to a certain degree but I think Holtby is playing outstanding. Nuevirth and Vokoun played behind the same defense for much of the season and they barely made the playoffs.
Holtby hasnt played throughout the entire season behind this group but hes doing a great job imo. |

Gusto. Bartulis is on recall waivers though, just to be a black ace |

The caps aren't playing the way they did two months ago, if they were this series would be over. They might be the 2010 Flyers this year. They pulled it together down the stretch. |

I think you might be correct but then I'm missing someone I believe. The point is those goalies arent garbage. |
