If Toronto gets Luongo that would be a steal. Trade your 1st and Kadri for him.

Luongo is still one of the best goalies in the league and will lead that team back to the playoffs.

He will be traded for at least what the Caps got for Varlamov. At least!!!

Luongo is still a stud and is about a 1000 times better than Reimer or Goose.

you should be happy to have a goalie his calibur, how are you ever going to win a cup if you can't even make the playoffs

if you have a team that can score 3 goals in a game you will win 90% of the time with him in net

if anywhere it would be tampa though, they have an elite superstar and a couple aging stars and want to win now. solid defensive core that got them to conference finals last year and no goaltending prospects. they also own 2 first round picks and are home state to luongo's in-laws

purcell or connolly would be players of interest our way i guess (or something that will get us a top 4 d-man) i hesitate to say hedman though

I'd do this trade..
-
To Van:
Lupul
3rd
-
To Tor:
Luongo
Hansen
-
Then do my best to persuade Parise to come our way in Lupul's replacement.

I doubt he comes here. Yes Burke wants to make the playoffs and yes Luongo would get us there. But he also said he doesn't want to get his ass kicked in the first round.

He'll end up in Florida... Played there before, still owns a home near sunrise, No media poop storm to deal with if he plays poorly, the team needed to load up on FA just to reach the cap floor.

Luongo will be a Panther again.

Luongo is struggling with the pressure of playing for a first place team in a mid-tier market.

He'll get shredded in Toronto. The team in front of him in Toronto will be exponentially worse than the one in Vancouver, and the media in Toronto are exponentially worse than anyone anywhere in the world. There will be a photoshop of his head on a sieve plastered on the cover of the Toronto Sun after his first loss.

Not a wise move. Expectations will be far too high. Walk away Toronto.

I hope the Leafs offer sheet Schneider. That would really mess them up.

..and that's as far as this convo should have gone.

Tampa makes sense though. Veteran team trying to win now and home for him

they won't. it makes TOOO much sense, and BB has TOOO many 'morals'. ie: won't offer sheet, won't sign 'cap' circumventing deals.

basically, won't do piss all to make the leafs better...saves his best work for BOS!

He'd solve two things.
The Leafs would get an upgrade at their backup goalie spot and they'd get a new captain.

I didnt know he had a contract for life. wow. Lets face it, Schneider saw a lot of time in the SCF, and outplayed lou then, I say send him to the minors, and his money is off the books.

That would be awesome. I like schneider, he's solid. He would be the one to make a play for, who would make a trade for a contract like that anyway? Esp in this salary cap league.
