My sister has read the series so far and is annoyed at the pace at which things are resolved (almost never) and the speed at which he writes considering she thinks he looks emphysemic and is unlikely to finish the stories before he kicks it. She reads very slowly, so the fact that she's made it through them all is impressive. But she's thinking she should have read something more satisfying.

Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series is excellent. 10 books all finished, there are additional books by Ian Esslemont as well written in the same world with the same characters.

I have found with these things that setting up the story is a lot easier than finishing it or resolving it. I do want to read this series. Just from the show I am in love with the characters but if it's gonna be ten years before he finishes it I don't want to be left hanging because I could probably start his books now and be done by May 30th with what he's already written. I can tear through some books i read like that. I read another series that started in 1996 and didn't finish until about 2 years ago, it was hell the last 8 years because it felt like the writer had me on a treadmill through the final four books or so. But I hate starting a story and not finishing.

OK i just saw it on HNIC. It was Malkin and it didn't look all that clean. Malkin went in for the hit and Grossman was in a bad position. I'm sure when you see it you will have your own opinions. It was a hit to the head.

I just want to win this series. I'm tired of the soap opera surrounding the cleanliness of hits. It appeals to me with the same level of a highschool cafeteria brawl anymore.

I agree Joe. This series has been a complainers dream. I think once you guys see that hit you will be upset, that's all I'm saying.

That's what you got from my post? Ok then...

Regardless, reading your posts it doesn't sound like it matters. You would love to see Crosby concussed and you don't try and hide it.

The real problem with that is, it will require the suspension of a player, who will that be?

With Shanasham on the case, Malkin will be fined two bottles of Smirnoff Vodka.

Sadly I agree. Can't believe there wasn't a replay during the game.

Awesome Plind.

Has anyone actually seen the hit everyone is calling dirty? Honest question, I never even saw it.

- canadianpenfan

I remember the hit vaguely. It was iffy. He came up high with his elbow/forearm but Grossmann's head kind of got crushed between arm and glass. I am surprised that he gets a conky frankly. Impact did not seem that bad.

Edit: after reading comments, whoa.

Malkin threw an elbow at Danny's head and attempted to throw one as someone else's head. He needs some kind of band to hold his arms in to his body, because he seems unable to control his flying elbows.

I would say Carle, but he would probably fracture his elbow in three or four places if he gave Crosby a head shot, that or he would miss, or have his elbow blocked.

That was a hit by Kennedy before the one Malkin delivered.

No I wouldn't. Do you know why? There were so many blatant attempts to injure our players that I just don't giv a poop about Crosby. Two games ago I would have said it was cheap. At this rate Giroux couts and Danny are next .

Judging by the grounds Shanahan is using I would agree. But he probably should be. I need to see it again but it didn't look good.

I don't even need to see it. Malkin isn't getting suspended for an elimination game at home. You can take that to the bank.
