I wouldn't take Letang over Desjardins or Timonen. Letang scores goals and dishes out big hits but is merely adequate as a positional defenseman.

Speaking of positional defense, did you see what Detroit "defense" did last night before one of the NSH goals? THREE players plus the goalie completely out of position. That is something I last saw at my son's peewee games

Over the past 2 years he has vastly improved (at least IMO) in his own end.. and this year showed continual improvement.

He is a rare breed d-man. He isnt an all or nothing roamer offensive d-man like Green. He plays a decent positional game, is a decent shot blocker, has great wheels, is a very good PP QB... and not that I like this.. but he is one of the best shootout guys in the league.

At 24 he is really starting to truly come on as a defenseman. You can see the difference in the team when he is in and out of the lineup. His defensive game IMO is underrated.

Yea, I would take Letang over Timonen right now, but Letang is not as good as Timonen was in his prime.

Letang is 24.. I would like to see Letang in his prime. If he continues to progress and mature defensively he has the potential to be a possible Norris candidate year in and out.

I would post the Talbot vacation picture like I've been doing the past three games, but mods keep taking it down.

Hopefully Danny enjoys playing the wing next season.
- bradleyc4

IF I remember correctly they tried him on the wing and it was a disaster. He can't win battles along the wall and such.

Does anyone have a link to the article that says JVR skated and could play in tonight's game (but won't)?

I was about to say that looked like something the Penguins would do, but Detroit actually had 3 men back instead of letting up a breakaway

I'd like both Letang and Timonen on my team. Could certainly do without the blatant diving/embellishments that Letang has become notorious for, though.

Letang has a long way to go if he is ever as good as Timonen. The thing about Timonen is while he is a very good offensive defenseman, he was even better defensively.

what's so bad about chris lee? tbh i don't focus much on individual officials. you'd think i would as much as i female dog about the officiating the flyers receive.

"Tonight's Flyers-Pens officials: Refs are Wes McCauley and Chris Lee, linesmen are Greg Devorski and Steve Barton."

So I just red Bills tweet about the officials, I like the linesmen alot... but I have no idea who the refs are. Anyone know anything about them?
