James van Riemsdyk (foot) participated in practice on Tuesday. The Philadelphia winger said he could play in Game 4 on Wednesday night, but that probably won't happen with the Flyers holding a 3-0 series lead over Pittsburgh in their quarterfinal match-up. There isn't a need to rush him back in the lineup and he would likely benefit from some additional skates. It is encouraging to see that he'll likely be ready to return soon though.

Woot. IMO when he is ready, Rinaldo sits. After this first round, Shanahan has to do something to stop these dirty hits and crazy scrums. You better believe there will be a mandate to call everything slash/hit/rough related, and with Rinaldo's rep I can see him getting a penality for hitting the ice to hard. Plus Wellwood has quitely had a good series.

I don't know why, but I have this terrible sense of foreboding. Please win this game tonight so I can rest easy for a few days.

I'm really curious what Timonen could have said to Crosby after the Voracek's Glove Incident that could have set him off like that. I haven't seen any quotes on it.

As far as the game tonight, I can see it being a 2-1 nail biter just as easily as it could end up another 8-5 show.

I've had that feeling every game so far. I cant pinpoint whether its fear of losing a game, or players getting injured... But since we have won every game I felt this way, maybe its a good thing.

FYI, whenever I wear my Jersey at home the Flyers play horrible, see period 1 of games 1 and 2. So therefore I will not be wearing me Jersey tonight.

That's a match-up the Flyers want. Pens were trying to get Staal out there vs. the Giroux line in games 1 and 2.
- bradleyc4

It's amazing that they don't want "the best player in the world" going against Giroux.

The NHL is getting some of the highest ratings ever for playoff hockey. Shanahan is trying to keep the ratings up, dirty hits are bad for the league, but those crazy scrums get viewers.

I dont know what he can do now. He's in wayyyyyy over his head. Personally I think they either revamp the whole process and make it a group effort instead of just making it his call or he steps down. Shanny has been an utter failure.

Same idea as to why the Flyers don't want Giroux going up against Staal. You want to put your best players in the best position to succeed.

I dont get why everyone is complaining about Shanny either. The only thing he has been consistent at all year has been being inconsistent. It should be expected at this point.

i think it's along the lines of putting a checking center against the other team's top offensive center for both teams

With the way crosby was handling himself on Sunday, I doubt timonen had to say much of anything. I thought it was more timonen slashing crosby's stick out of his hands. A very mild encounter by timonen considering what crosby was doing. He was a ticking time bomb.

But, I have not seen any quotes about timonen actually saying anything either.

If I'm not mistaken, he slashed Crosby's stick right out of his hand.
