Crosby and Malkin have been equally as Bad. I know it was 6-4 but what in the hell was Crosby doing on the giroux goal early in the 3rd. I'm going to look at his minus number now.

Outside of Asham, Crosby has been the worst forward in his own zone by a wide margin since he came back. Bad passes, picks up nobody, just awful. The sad part was he used to be one of the best on team.

All im going to say is that we drafted our stars during the middle to late first round. We have missed the playoffs about 6 times in the last 30 years.

We are also not the poster child for why the draft in its current format works.

We also have never been bankrupt.

Where would the pens be with out 66 and 87?

In order for the Pens D to have a problem in this series, they would actually have to have one in the first place. To say it has been a problem has been an understatement. The Flyers have absolutely abused them at every chance.

With all the great moves the Flyers have done this offseason with bringing in the youngsters via the trades his acquisition was just as big. No can deny the enormous value he brings to the Flyers both on and off the ice.

But you didn't Hypotheticals are fun. And everyone needs to be lucky of course. Do you really think the Wings knew what they had in Zetterberg and Datsyuk? Of course not, otherwise they wouldn't have let them sit around so long on draft day and snatched them up in the 4th or 5th round. Good picks in late rounds are as much about luck as they are good scouting.

The Pens lost a lot of grit when Talbot and Rupp left but you can only pay players so much and still be under the cap.

At least they paid Martin $5 million per year!

Never said that, I love pitt as a city..its just a fact that downtown is not an ideal place to hold a parade. Actually downtown is so cramped its not really ideal to do anything in. I hate going there and avoid it when I can

But it's accurate. I'm a Flyers fan, but you can't argue with the facts.

Another fact: the Flyers have the second highest winning % in NHL history behind Montreal.

If someone only wants to argue cups then the Penguins have the advantage. But as far as overall franchise performance there isn't much of an argument.

Ok 5 in 25. Just as many as the Bruins. And that's still fewer than the Leafs in the last 6. Or the Hawks in the last 15, Or the Habs, Rangers over 25, and most other teams. People act like the Pens have had 3 good years ever when in fact over the last generation been one of the more succesful franchises. 3 cups, 4 finals, 6 trips to ECF. How many other teams have had as many, if not far more top 5 picks over that period and accomplished far less? Yes they have been lucky, but also deserve credit for making the right moves, picking up the right secondary pieces and assebling good teams.
